The new moon is all about reflection. It's about retreating inward, conserving energy, pampering ourselves, and manifesting our goals and intentions. It's a wonderful time to set the seeds of our dreams and where we want to go.
Purva Ashada is the nakshatra of love and finding the beauty in everything. Represented by the fan, the elephant tusk (Ganesh), Apas (the gods and goddesses of water), and Varuna.... this is a powerful time to set and work toward those intentions!
Water is the shape shifter. It's non discriminate. It will fuel and power whatever life it lands on. It's all loving, all flowing, all nourishing, and all forgiving. Whatever you've been wanting to cultivate, the new moon energy and Purva Ashada are offering the proper land to till.
But it will involve work! The new moon offers a time to rest and reflect, but ultimately, pursuing goals will require a set drishti (gaze) and tapas (effort). To really reap the benefits of our intentions, we must put forth the effort that we think is worth the reward.
Take rest on January 5th to reflect, spend time near water, nourish yourself, stay hydrated. And after that, set your dream chasing into high gear.
