This is a guided meditation to give gratitude for our teachers.

Without our teachers, we might feel lost. We might not have the success, the clarity, the guidance that we do. Especially in the yoga and meditation tradition, so much is passed down directly from teacher to student — generation after generation. Without the teacher-student relationship, these teachings would simply be lost.

This practice is inspired by Guru Purnima, the full moon that honors our gurus — the ones who bring light where there is darkness. But this meditation can be done any time. Guru means “remover of darkness,” and Purnima means full moon. In the Vedic tradition, Jyotisha — the science of light — is at the heart of this. So today, we reflect on those who have brought light into our lives.

You’ll be guided to:

– Find a comfortable position and settle into your breath

– Bring to mind one teacher who’s been influential in your life

– Reflect on a moment, a feeling, or a presence they offered you

– Silently express gratitude for them — even as if you’re speaking to them directly

– Continue through a timeline of teachers, mentors, guides — anyone who helped you see more clearly

– Then shift to the people you’ve helped — students, clients, friends — and give thanks for the opportunity to be of service

– And finally, you’ll thank yourself — for showing up, for listening, for being your own inner guide

This is a gentle, healing, heart-centered practice. It’s not about what your teachers said or did, but how they made you feel. Take this time to honor that.

Even if you only have a few minutes, this meditation can reconnect you to the lineage of wisdom you’re a part of — and bring peace to your heart.

On Friday, June 20th, we arrive at the June Solstice, the spiritual energetic midpoint of the year. And just a couple weeks later on July 2nd, we hit the actual calendar middle of 2025. This is a powerful time to pause and reflect—not just on how far you’ve come this year, but on who you’re becoming.

It’s been a transformational year already. If you’ve felt that too, you’re not alone. We’ve had major transits of Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu, and Ketu—all the big movers—and I’ve shared in-depth episodes and free guides for each of those. You can find them in the past episodes.

For me, 2025 has been a year of deep growth, healing, and expansion. There’s been a lot of yang intensity—Mars and Ketu conjunct from June to July—and that’s shown up globally, and maybe in your own life too. It’s a powerful time, especially if you’ve got a lot of Aries or Scorpio energy in your chart.

We started the year with a major wave of Venus in Pisces, beginning January 27th. That exalted Venus energy touched everything from romance to art to spiritual alignment. Then, we had a rare Venus retrograde in Pisces from March 2nd to April 13th—offering a deep review of what we love, what we’re committed to, and what unfinished relational business we might need to clean up.

That overlapped with eclipse season in March—including a powerful Lunar Eclipse in Leo on March 13th (identity shifts, ego death, soul expression) and a Solar Eclipse on March 29th, which coincided with Saturn entering Pisces. That was the single biggest day of the year: 7 planets in Pisces! This marked the beginning of a whole new era—a two-and-a-half-year cycle of dissolving old structures and following your intuition more deeply.

March through April was full of Pisces energy, including a Mercury retrograde, so a lot of review, reflection, and redefinition was happening. Then in April, the Sun moved into Aries, signaling the start of new beginnings and forward movement. And we’ve been in this yang momentum ever since.

Now, as we reach the Solstice—the sun standing still—we pause. This is a sacred window to reflect on what’s changed, what you’ve outgrown, and where you want to go next. Especially with Mars and Ketu still conjunct, and Venus newly in Aries, it’s a time to notice where new beginnings are emerging in relationships and purpose.

It is June 9th, 2025 and that Yang energy is coming on pretty strong. You feel it? Maybe you’re seeing it in world events. Maybe you’re feeling it in your body or your relationships. Personally, I’ve been riding that Mars and Aries wave with a lot of energy, creativity, and productivity—especially since I’ve got a lot of Aries in my chart. This week, we’re coming off a series of major planetary shifts, and the only major transit now is the Full Moon in Jyeshta Nakshatra in Scorpio on June 10th (technically just past midnight PT). So it’s a powerful moment for completion, culmination, and deep integration. In this episode, I go deep into how to work with this energy—because it’s intense. Scorpio is ruled by Mars, and Mars is conjunct Ketu all through June and July, which adds this edge of heat, volatility, and potential for big transformation or big blowups.

Jyeshta energy is great for protection, responsibility, deep research, and spiritual inquiry. It’s the energy of going beyond surface-level distractions to get to the core of things—whether that’s your yoga practice, your relationship dynamics, or the truths you’re uncovering in meditation. And if you’re seeing stuff in the news, or having strong reactions to others, I invite you to pause and ask: What is this showing me about myself? That’s a very Jyeshta question—going into the shadows, not looking away.

But there’s a dark side too—manipulation, secrecy, control, infidelity, overindulgence. This isn’t a week to bury your head in the sand. But it’s also not a week to rush into intense conversations either—Mars and Ketu energy can explode if not directed intentionally. Instead, I encourage you to journal, reflect, and take a beat before confronting anything high-stakes. This is not the time for passive energy—it’s time for action, but action with clarity.

If you’re feeling extra sensitive—especially around emotions or hormonal shifts—that’s normal too. The Moon in Scorpio brings that deep emotional undercurrent to the surface. So be gentle, but firm. This is a great week for movement, physical activity, deep house cleaning, and focused work. Not so great for escapism, numbing out, or spiritual bypassing.
