A Bridge To Belonging
"I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it."
God wants to have a relationship with me.
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you.
Isaiah 64:6 We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags.
2 Corinthians 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
intercession
Romans 8:34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Intercession is an activity, it’s an action.
Intercessions: The act of bringing two parties together.
John 14:2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Joshua 17:10 Southward it was Ephraim’s, and northward it was Manasseh’s, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.
Joshua 19:11 And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam.
Jesus built a bridge for us.
Isaiah 59:16 He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no Intercessor; – therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; and His own righteousness, it sustained Him.”
Isaiah 53:12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Jesus brings our way into an intersection with God’s way.
Now because of Jesus, we can cross over to God. We have a bridge to God. And it’s not about what I do, it’s about what Jesus did.
Ephesians 2:8-9 God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Jesus is the bridge.
John 14:6 I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
There’s no way to get to God except through Jesus.

Matthew 4:1-10 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” 5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’ and, ‘in their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.’” 7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’” 8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” 11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.
Jesus Was Committed and Submitted To God’s Word
OMNIPRESENT - Everywhere present at the same time
OMNISCIENT - All-knowing
OMNIPOTENT - All-powerful
Satan works to disqualify us from our calling by taking legitimate Godly appetites, and getting us to satisfy them in ungodly ways.
John 6:38 For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will.
John 4:34 "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.
“Bread” (Matt. 4:4)
“Milk” (1 Peter 2:2)
“Meat” (1 Cor. 3:1–2)
“Wheat” (Psalm 81:10)
“Honey” (Ps. 119:103)
Jeremiah 15:16 Your words were found, and l ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart.
God's will is God's Word, and God's Word is God's will.
If you want to pray according to God‘s will you have to know what the Word of God says.
1 John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, He hears us. 5 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen,
When you pray according to God’s promises, God never says “no”
Proverbs 3:1 The words of God giveth life
1. Make God’s Word The Foundation Of Your Life
The quality of the structure is determined by the quality of the foundation that it’s built on.
Matthew 7:24 Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
2. Obey God’s Word, Even If You Don’t Like It.
3. Make It The First Part Of My Daily Life
Matthew 6:33 But seek first everybody say first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
When you focus on God, God focuses on you!
Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
4. Keep Dipping
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ live in you richly
You will start to take on the nature of the thing that is influencing you

#1. The Breath Of God Brings Understanding
