For years, Democrats and pundits have rolled their eyes at Gavin Newsom. But he’s positioned better than anyone else for the future of politics.  It took a ruling by federal judges for the Trump administration to continue funding the program used by millions. The Clovis City Council wants to be ready if the need arises — the agreement to keep the government open lasts through Jan. 30, 2026.
