Nicea DeGering is an amazing person! She stopped by to share her powerful story of how she stays confident in the face of adversity, chooses to be happy, and wants to make a positive difference in this world. Nicea is a well-known celebrity here in Utah involved with so many good causes. The most important one, being a mom to two very beautiful daughters.
Nicea loves morning television in Utah! A self-proclaimed “night person,“ she has been getting up and hopping onto the Good Things Utah set for over a decade now. After graduating from BYU in Broadcasting, Nicea began her career at ABC 4 in 1995 as an associate producer. Six months later she became the station’s crime reporter, covering stories like the Elizabeth Smart abduction, security at the 2002 Winter Olympics and 9/11 and its impact on our state.
Along with reporting, Nicea anchored the weekend news for several years before being invited to join a brand new show in the fall of 2002, when Good Things Utah debuted. Along with co-hosting a show that would earn an Emmy and lead the way in Utah morning lifestyle television, Nicea anchored the early morning news, then called ‘AM Express.’
