This week I am talking about high school.  There is a lot that happens in those four years and some of those events stick with us for the rest of our lives.  I think maybe it's time to work through that!  Now that I am a mother of a high school student I see that this time in our lives is major to our development as adults so maybe we need to hit on what we do with all that now that we are grown ass people.

Big thanks for Adam for being in my DMs this week.  I know that a lot of people wanted to be in this episode, but I really thought after I told my story about high school that I needed you to understand it wasn't just me that went through that kind of bullying.  There were a lot of us.

This week I am talk about Joy.  While I have been out looking for fun for a two part episode coming up in July I found something even better something that I wish I had found years ago.  And, that's joy.  I discovered that my need to find fun doesn't always have to end in fun some time it can just lead to finding joy in the situation where I am in the moment.

Being that this episode is being released on the fourth of July I am sure that a lot of people are going to start their day thinking they are looking for a lot of fun and find themselves disappointed but if you relax and just enjoy your time with friends your experience might be a lot different.

This week we did our DM's a lot different I posted the question what gives you joy online and I waited for the answers and then talked about what was posted.  The reason being I thought that if I got the conversation going it could lead to other people looking for joy in new places.  It could also lead to some positive talk on social media and I always think that's a bonus.

Well, can you believe!? Nicki Needs an Adult is having her one year anniversary!!! In this week's episode I will be talking about what I have learned about podcasting in the past year and what I still want to accomplish with this show.  I will talk about things that I'm glad I changed and things that I want to bring back.

This is just one of those things that has no one right answer and nothing is clean cut.  But, what I will say is there needs to be more truth and lessons taught about what the LGBTQ+ community as brought to us as a nation and there needs to be a talk about how we should act when we are invited into their safe spaces.

 This movie is everything that this podcast is basically about, and after I watched it the first time I knew that I wanted to do an episode about it.  I hope that you guys enjoyed it as much as I did and that you have learned to let go of that unicorn and find what else is out there for you.  But, I am curious what is your unicorn? This week we are talking about being fat.  There's no way to sugar coat it and I really don't want to.  There needs to be an honest conversation about why in the hell we are talking about how much people weigh still in our 30's.  What's the point?  And, we just don't even really want even own up to what we are, or even better own up to how we really treat each other.

I know that this can really get upsetting, but I don't really care this time.  I am a big ass woman and I don't like who this issue is a really big deal to me and I want to talk about it on the level that I feel like is best.  Enough said.
