Regarding the fragile ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran, where continued fighting between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon has threatened to derail the two-week ceasefire, President Trump said if a peace deal was not reached last weekend the U.S. is prepared to renew and intensify strikes on Iran. Springtime and warmer weather draw more people outdoors for activities. That means more pedestrians going for walks, more cyclists, dog walkers, kids playing and car traffic in general with people wanting to get out to enjoy the weather. We discussed roadway safety and cautioned people, however they are enjoying the outdoors, to be more mindful of their surroundings on the roadways where there might be more activity and traffic due to the warmer weather.

The stocks rose earlier in the week when it was announced that a temporary ceasefire deal had been reached, only for the stocks to drop again after Israel orchestrated its largest coordinated attack on Lebanon only hours after a U.S./Iran ceasefire. Iran stopped traffic through the Strait of Hormuz saying the strikes by U.S.’s ally violated the deal. Thursday morning, the stocks reversed their earlier losses after Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to direct negotiations with Lebanon. We discussed the continued economic impacts of the war with Iran.

This week the Massachusetts House passed a bill 129-25 that bans the use of social media for kids 14 years old and additionally institutes a bell-to-bell cellphone ban in public K-12 schools. The proposed law now rests with the Senate. As a parent or educator, what’s your opinion on this legislation? Are you for or against it? If passed, the law would take effect this October.
