I like umeboshi, pickled plums. I often eat rice balls made of umeboshi. Sometimes I drink alcohol with umeboshi.

I make gin and tonic at home. I put lemon in my gin and tonic. Lime is also fine.

One day I put umeboshi in my gin and tonic. It was very tasty and I was surprised. Umeboshi are sour. And salty. This salty taste goes well with sweet tonic water. This summer I was addicted to ume gin and tonic. Now that it's colder, I drink warm gin with umeboshi in it.

ジンを使ったカクテルといえばマティーニがありますよね。マティーニにはよくオリーブが入っていますが、オリーブと梅干しは味が似てると思います。でも、温かいジンにオリーブを入れても、あまりおいしくなさそうです。梅干しが温かいジンに合うのは、梅のかくれた甘さのせいだと思います。ジンの苦さと梅干しのしょっぱさと甘さのバランスが絶妙です。日本なら焼酎をお湯で割って梅干しを入れるのはよくあります。うちには焼酎がないので、ジンでもおいしいというのは、いい発見です。

In Japan, it is common to mix shochu with hot water and add umeboshi. I don't have shochu in my house, so it's a nice discovery that it tastes good with gin.

On Monday I went to the supermarket. I bought fruits. I bought two persimmons. Persimmons are an autumn fruit.

There were apples and pears in the supermarket. I like both of them. But I didn't buy them. There was an orange-coloured mountain in the vegetable section. They are pumpkins. Halloween pumpkins are big.

On Wednesday I went by car to a Chinese supermarket. There are Asian foods. There were my favourite pears. They are round pears. I put three pears in my shopping basket. Then I went to the vegetable section. There was a green pumpkin and I bought one.

月曜日にスーパーに行きました。くだものを買いました。柿を2つ買いました。柿は秋のくだものです。

スーパーにりんごや梨もありました。どちらも好きです。でも、買いませんでした。野菜売り場にオレンジ色の山がありました。かぼちゃです。ハロウィンのかぼちゃは大きいです。

水曜日に車で　中華スーパーに行きました。アジアの食べ物があります。私の好きな梨がありました。丸い梨です。梨を３つ買い物かごに入れました。それから野菜の売り場に行きました。みどり色のかぼちゃがありました。1つ買いました。

晩ご飯の後、柿と梨を食べました。どちらも皮を剥いて8つに切ります。柿は甘くて、やわらかかったです。とろっとして、おいしかったです。梨はシャキシャキしていました。

今週は一気に寒くなったので、かぼちゃのポタージュを作りました。皮がかたくて、切るのが大変ですが、小さく切ったら、後は簡単です。体が温まりました。かぼちゃはまだ半分残っています。みなさんはどんなかぼちゃ料理が好きですか。

After dinner, I ate a persimmon and a pear. I peeled them and cut them into eight pieces. The persimmon was sweet and soft. They were smooth and tasty. The pears were crunchy.

It got cold all at once this week, so I made pumpkin potage. The skin is tough and hard to cut, but once you cut it into small pieces, the rest is easy. It warmed me up. I still have half of the pumpkin left. What kind of pumpkin dishes do you like?

前回ロンドンに来た時、甥っ子はまだ３歳でした。町を観光するのは退屈だから、父の希望でアビーロードに行った時にはお土産売り場でレコードの形のチョコレートを買ってあげました。食べてる間はバギーの上で静かにしてくれると思ったら、あっという間に食べ終わってびっくりしました。今は９歳になりました。サッカーをしてるので、スタジアムツアーに連れて行く予定です。

The library is in a large building. It has an open space with tables and chairs so I can have Japanese lessons there. It's clean, bright and there's Wi-Fi, so there is people working too. There is also a cinema in this building.I sometimes go to the cinema in the evening. It's a good cultural complex, but I have one complaint. The toilets are in the basement and it is very far away.

図書館は１０時からです。朝、図書館の前に人がたくさんいます。みんな待っています。図書館にいろいろな人が来ます。朝は赤ちゃんが多いです。図書館は大きい建物の中にあります。オープンスペースにテーブルといすがあって、そこで日本語のレッスンができます。きれいで、明るくて、Wi-Fiがあるから、仕事をしてる人もいます。この建物には映画館もあります。私は夜、ときどき映画を見に行きます。いい文化施設ですが、１つ不満があります。トイレが地下にあって、とても遠いです。

いつもレッスンをしているカフェは、３週間も閉まっています。ちょっと心配していたのですが、今日、道でばったりカフェの　オーナーのアナさんに会いました。お店は今、工事をしている　そうです。本当は２週間で終わる予定でしたが、予定より長くなってしまったと言っていました。アナさんのお店はコーヒーが安くて、トイレまで30秒です。たまに違う場所でレッスンするのもいいですが、私はやっぱりアナさんのお店が好きです。
