It is very cold in the UK this week. Car windows are white in the morning. I use a hot water bottle every night.

Every day, at night, before I go to bed, I boil water with an electric kettle. I put the hot water into the hot water bottle and take it to bed. It makes the inside of my futon warm. I love the hot water bottle.　　　　　　

But recently, my hot water bottle broke. The cap is a bit strange. Sometimes it leaks water. The other day, when I woke up in the morning, my feet were cold. The bed sheets were wet. This hot water bottle is old. I want a new one.

I can no longer use the main hot water bottle, but we have other warming goods. I have a warmer that heats up in a microwave. It is slightly longer and warms the neck and shoulders. On cold nights I use it to warm my ankles. Usually, if I warm it in the microwave for two minutes it stays warm for hours, but it's too cold now and it gets cold very quickly. I'm interested in an electric blanket recommended by a friend, but I won't buy one yet. If I buy one, I think I'll get stuck, so I shouldn't.

Last week I went to the Borough Market in London. I went to the vegetable shop. There were lots of mushrooms.

I looked thoroughly at the mushrooms. There were many kinds of mushrooms. What do you cook with mushrooms? I like to fry them in butter. They are also delicious in miso soup. Also, when I make nabe, I always put shiitake mushrooms in it.

I bought some expensive mushrooms at the market. They are called porcini mushrooms. They are expensive, so I bought only three small ones. At night I made porcini rice. Put the rice, water and porcini in the rice cooker. Add a tablespoon of sake and a tablespoon of soy sauce. Then add a little butter. It smells good and tastes delicious.

先週ロンドンのバラ・マーケットに行きました。やさいの　お店に行きました。きのこがたくさんありました。

私はきのこの売り場をゆっくり見ました。いろいろなきのこがありました。みなさんはきのこで何を作りますか。私はバター炒めが好きです。お味噌汁に入れてもおいしいです。あと、鍋をする時は、いつもしいたけを入れます。

マーケットで高いきのこを買いました。ポルチーニという　　　きのこです。高いから、小さいのを３つだけ買いました。夜、ポルチーニご飯を作りました。炊飯器にお米と水とポルチーニを入れます。お酒としょうゆを大さじ１杯ずつ、入れます。それから、バターを少しだけ入れます。いいにおいで、おいしいです。

バター入りのご飯がこってりしてるから、何か、さっぱりした野菜も食べたいと思いました。冷蔵庫にあった白菜を細く切って、塩、ごま油、お酢をかけたら簡単なサラダのできあがりです。キャベツと白菜だったら私は白菜の方が好きです。白菜はキャベツよりやわらかくて、みずみずしくて、甘いです。でも、イギリスで買える白菜は小さくて、すぐ、なくなってしまいます。

Because the rice with butter is so rich, I wanted to eat vegetables too, something refreshing. I cut up some Chinese lettuce I had in the fridge into thin strips, and with a little salt, sesame oil and vinegar, a simple salad is ready. If it's cabbage and Chinese lettuce, I prefer Chinese lettuce. Chinese lettuce is softer, fresher and sweeter than cabbage. But the Chinese lettuce you can buy in the UK is small and soon runs out.

土曜日に友だちと小さい劇場に行きました。ロンドンで、今、村上春樹の「スプートニクの恋人」をやっています。

私は高校生から大学生の時に、村上春樹の本を読んでいま　した。今もときどき読みます。ストーリーはおもしろいけど、村上春樹の文章はつかれます。新しい本はKindleに入っていますが、まだ読んでいません。イギリス人の友だちが「スプートニクの恋人」を見に行こうと言いました。私はシアターが好きだし、友だちに会うのは楽しいです。ドイツ人の友だちも来て、３人で出かけました。

「スプートニクの恋人」は大学生の男の子と女の子の話で、劇を見た後、私たちは「若いっていいねえ」と言いました。それから、一杯飲みに行くことにしました。近くのバーに行ったら、混んでいて、にぎやかでした。少し変な感じがしましたが、喉が乾いてたので　入りました。後から大学生ぐらいの若い人しかいないと気がつきました。うるさい店の中で、がんばってカクテル２杯分喋りました。メニューの字が小さすぎて、携帯のライトをつけて読まなければならず、笑いました。お店選びは失敗でしたが、楽しい夜でした。

On Saturday I went to a small theatre with friends. In London, Haruki Murakami's "Sputnik Sweetheart" is playing at the moment.

I read Haruki Murakami's books when I was in high school and university. I still read them now and sometimes. The stories are interesting, but Haruki Murakami's writing can be tiring. I have the new book on my Kindle, but I haven't read it yet. A British friend suggested we go and see " 'Sputnik Sweetheart'". I like theatre and it's fun to see friends. My German friend came too and the three of us went out.

Sputnik Sweetheart" is about a boy and a girl in university, and after the play, we said, " Youth is good". Then we decided to go for a drink. We went to a nearby bar and it was crowded and lively. I felt a bit weird, but we were thirsty, so we went in. Later we realised that there were only young people, maybe university students. We did our best to talk over two cocktails in the noisy bar. We laughed because the letters on the menu were so small that we had to read them with the light on our mobile phone. It was a bad choice of bar, but it was a fun night.

My neighbour is a family of four. My neighbour also has a cat. The cat is cute.

My neighbour's cat is in our garden every day. The cat is big.　　　　It is a black and white patchy cat. My garden is the cat's walking route. It always goes for a walk through our garden. It often rests on the fence. Sometimes it comes inside our house. She is a quiet cat, but she is friendly. She is also quite fearless.

私のうちのおとなりさんは４人家族です。そして、ねこが　1ぴきいます。ねこはかわいいです。

となりの猫は毎日うちの庭にいます。猫は大きいです。白と黒のぶち猫です。うちの庭は猫の散歩ルートです。いつも、うちの庭を通って、散歩に行きます。よく、フェンスの上で 休んでいます。ときどき、うちの中に入ってきます。おとなしくて、静かな猫ですが、人懐っこいです。そして、けっこう大胆です。

ある日の夜、寝る前に庭に出るドアに鍵をかけようと思ったら、目の前にとなりの猫がいました。ドアを開けたら、家に入ってきました。ちょっと私の顔を見てから、部屋の中に歩いて行きました。おじゃまします、とは言われなかったと思います。私は待っていましたが、ぜんぜん帰ってこないので見に行きました。１階にはいませんでした。チリンチリンと首輪の鈴の音がして、２階から猫が降りてきました。それからたまに、うちに来るようになりました。部屋に見に行くと逃げるので、何をしてるのか、よくわかりませんが、おしっこなどはされていないようです。

One night, before going to bed, I went to lock the door to the garden and saw my neighbour's cat in front of me. I opened the door and it came into the house. It looked at me for a moment and then walked into the room. I don't think she said, 'Ojama-shimasu'.　I waited, but she didn't come back at all, so I went to see her. She was not on the ground floor. I heard the tinkling of the collar bell and the cat came down from upstairs. Then she started to come to our house sometimes. I don't know what she is doing because she runs away when I go to the room to check on her, but she doesn't seem to have peed or anything.

On Sunday I went to a station in London. Paddington Station. It is a very big station.

Paddington is a terminal station. Trains go to the west of England from here.

Last week and this week are the autumn break for British university students. I saw many university students at the station. There were people with small suitcases and others with big rucksacks. Some are going back to their parents' homes and some are going back to university after the break.

I also went to this station to send my son off. I said to him, "Have a good trip" and saw him off.

日曜日にロンドンの駅に行きました。パディントン駅です。とても大きい駅です。パディントンはターミナル駅です。電車はここからイギリスの西に行きます。

先週と今週はイギリスの大学生の秋休みです。駅で大学生をたくさん見ました。小さいスーツケースを持っている人や、大きいリュックの人がいました。実家に帰る人と、休みが終わって、また大学に行く人です。私も息子を見送るためにこの駅に行きました。行ってらっしゃい、と見送りました。

息子を見送ってから、駅を出たら、おもしろいものがありました。動物たちが食事をしているスカルプチャーです。テーブルの上にお皿や食べ物が並んでいます。

にぎやかな食卓は、たくさんの動物でぎゅうぎゅうですが、空いている席が２つあって、座ってもいいそうです。チンパンジーの隣か、コアラの隣の席ですが、チンパンジーの隣は、前にライオンがいて、落ち着かないと思います。コアラの隣のほうが楽しそうです。見送りの後は　少し淋しくなりましたが、駅前アートで元気になりました。

Last week and this week are the autumn break for British university students. I saw many university students at the station. There were people with small suitcases and others with big rucksacks. Some are going back to their parents' homes and some are going back to university after the break.

I also went to this station to send my son off. I said to him, "Have a good trip" and saw him off.

When I left the station after seeing my son off, there was something interesting. It is a sculpture of animals eating. There are plates and food on the table.

The lively dining table is crowded with many animals, but there are two empty seats and you can sit down. You can either sit next to a chimpanzee or next to a koala, but next to a chimpanzee would be uncomfortable because there is a lion in front of you. Next to a koala seems more enjoyable.

I felt a bit sad after seeing them off, but the art around the station cheered me up.
