私のうちに古いお金がありました。木曜日に銀行に行きました。古いお金を持って行きました。銀行で新しいお金をもらいました。

イギリスでは２０１６年ごろからお札が新しくなりました。新しいお札は紙じゃありません。プラスチックです。古いお札は今、お店やレストランで使うことができないので、銀行で新しいお札に交換してもらいました。

イギリスのお札は４種類です。５０ポンドと２０ポンドと１０ポンドと５ポンドのお札があります。

今のデザインになる時に、お札の裏側に描かれた歴史上の有名人も変わりました。５ポンド札から順番に、チャーチル元首相、作家のオースティン、画家のターナー、そして５０ポンド札が科学者のチューリングです。表側はエリザベス女王ですが、来年チャールズ国王が印刷された一番新しいお札が発行されます。

I had old money in my house. On Thursday I went to the bank. I took the old money with me. I got new money from the bank.

In the UK, the notes have been renewed since around 2016. The new money is not paper. They are plastic. The old notes cannot be used in shops and restaurants now, so I asked the bank to exchange them for new ones. There are four types of notes in the UK: £50, £20, £10 and £5 notes.

先週、雨がふりました。雨の日に散歩に行きました。友達と、友達の犬と一緒に公園に行きました。

イギリスの雨は日本の雨より、さらっとしています。洋服がビチョビチョになることはあまりなくて、濡れてもすぐに乾きます。ウォータープルーフのジャケットは着たほうがいいですが、傘をささずに歩く人も多いです。散歩の後、家に帰ったらショックなことがありました。雨漏りです。トイレの天井からポタポタと水が落ちていました。急いで業者さんを探しました。

Last week, it rained. I went for a walk on a rainy day. I went to the park with a friend and her dog.

I don't like rainy days because it's cold. But I enjoy meeting people and chatting with them. I wore a warm coat. A black coat. When I went to the park, the dog was also wearing a black jacket. We matched. It was raining a bit.　I had an umbrella. But I didn't use it because it was windy.

今日の晩ご飯はお好み焼きでした。レストランじゃありません。うちで作りました。

お好み焼きは簡単で、おいしいです。まず、キャベツを切ります。私は小さいキャベツを使います。４つに切ります。４分の１サイズのキャベツをコールスローサラダみたいに切ります。次に、ボウルに小麦粉１カップと、水１カップと、卵を１つ入れます。よく混ぜます。そこに、キャベツも入れて、混ぜます。フライパンに油を少し入れます。フライパンが熱くなったら、焼きます。お好み焼きソースをかけて食べます。

これは私が住んでいるイギリスでも作れる、シンプルなレシピです。鰹節や青のりがあると、見た目もお好み焼きらしくなり、香りもいいです。日本では山芋を少し擦りおろして入れます。ふわっとしたお好み焼きになるからです。海外で山芋が手に入らない場合はズッキーニを使うといいと聞いて、やってみましたが、もちもちして、おいしかったです。

Today's dinner was okonomiyaki. Not at a restaurant. I made it at home.

Okonomiyaki is easy and tasty. First, cut the cabbage. I use small cabbage and cut it into four pieces. Cut the quartered cabbage like a coleslaw salad. Next, put 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of water and 1 egg in a bowl. Mix them well. Add the cabbage to it and mix. Add a little oil to the frying pan. When the frying pan is hot, cook. Pour okonomiyaki sauce and eat.

火曜日にアートエキシビションに行きました。イギリス人のアーティストです。名前はデイヴィッド・ホックニー（David Hockney）です。今、85歳です。

ホックニーは画家です。イギリスで生まれましたが、26歳の時、アメリカの西海岸に行きました。ずっとカリフォルニアに住んでいました。ホックニーは大きい絵を描きます。明るい色を使います。有名なプールの絵はなめらかなタッチですが、風景の絵はダイナミックです。写真やコラージュや、デジタルアートもあります。

エキシビションの会場は美術館じゃなくて、新しいアートスペースでした。実は、そこにホックニーの作品は１枚もありません。体験型のデジタルアート展だからです。新聞のレビューを読んだら、チケットは高いし、新しい作品もないし、残念だと書いてありました。でも、私は楽しかったです。ホックニーはiPadでも絵を描くし、使われている色や表現方法はデジタルに合っていると思います。最近、いろいろな所でデジタルアート展が行われているようです。没入感が楽しめる体験型。みなさんはどう思いますか。­

I went to an art exhibition on Tuesday. He is a British artist. His name is David Hockney. He is 85 years old now. He is very famous.

Hockney is a painter. He was born in England but went to the west coast of the USA when he was 26. He lived in California for a long time. Hockney draws large pictures. He uses bright colours. His famous pool paintings have a smooth touch, but his landscapes are dynamic. There are also photographs, collages and digital art.

土曜日の朝、仕事に行きました。午後、公園に行きました。いい天気でした。公園で桜を見ました。

毎年、春にロンドンのバタシーパークに桜を見に行きます。うちから少し遠いです。でも、公園の中に桜並木があって、とてもきれいです。桜が満開でした。写真を撮っている人がたくさんいました。お花見をしている人もいました。

バタシー公園は広いです。公園の前はテムズ川です。川の向こうにロンドンの町が見えます。私は川と町の景色が好きです。橋も好きです。みなさんの町にもおすすめスポットがありますか。

この公園にはボートに乗れる池やレンタサイクルや、小さな　動物園があります。サッカー場やテニスコートなどのスポーツ施設も充実しています。土曜日は、人が集まっている所があって、クレーン車を使ったバンジージャンプが行われていました。

いろいろなことができる公園ですが、自然が豊かなので、ほとんどの人はただ、のんびりと散歩やおしゃべりを楽しんでいます。暖かくなってきたので、ジョギングしている人が多かったです。春が来たなあと思いました。

I went to work on Saturday morning. In the afternoon I went to the park. It was a nice day. I saw cherry blossoms in the park.

Every year in spring I go to Battersea Park in London to see the cherry blossoms. It is a bit far from my house. But there are lines of cherry blossom trees in the park and it's very beautiful. The cherry trees were in full bloom. There were many people taking photos. Some people were doing hanami (cherry blossom viewing).

Battersea Park is large. In front of the park is the River Thames. You can see the city of London over the river. I like the view of the river and the city. I also like the bridges. Do you have recommendations for places in your town?
