Steve Frieder is a historian, Marquette University’s Corporate Secretary and Senior Advisor to the University’s President joins Dr.Ken Harris to discuss Queen Elizabeth II after her recent passing and to talk about her impact in Britain and how it’s translated and transcended into America. How does her death impact history now that “her life and service to her people” has been fulfilled? Then, Dr.Ken Harris talks about what traits you think all black people should have. What would be your 5 most important traits to be considered black? Dr.Ken Harris says what he thinks we all need as attributes.

A few things that Dr.Ken Harris has been reading recently have disturbed him. Some of them are being left unattended on purpose. Violence is a major factor, homicide, shootings, domestic abuse and other. The city says that the crime “numbers” are down. Dr.Ken Harris, says it’s for crimes that are less important at the moment. Theft being down vs homicides being down it’s a night and day difference. Are the advancements, redevelopments, and updates we see going on downtown even meant for us? Some say yes, others say no. Dr.Ken Harris says that if they tear down anything, no one better get a tax break out of it.

With so many things going on, like another water crisis in a black community aka Jackson Mississippi. What can we do to help during this time asks Dr.Ken Harris. He suggests not giving them water or not paying attention to where your help is going. Instead stepping up and doing what ever needs to be done in order to lend a hand. Also Dr.Ken Harris wonders if you feel it’s our prerogative to take care of the parks in our community or do we feel like since we pay taxes it’s not up to us?

Dr. Ken Harris there’s there’s a number of Black people that are successful in Milwaukee, but the media doesn’t do a very good job at showing those successes. There seems to be a darkness over the city, Dr. Ken Harris says we’ve been rejected in all areas. Not just education, job prospects, Equality, ownership, investing, any and all of it. Even though that rejection may have been able to be overcome. When did the black community start to take on the social mores of the white community? Do we feel like there’s a sacrifice for success, some of Dr. Ken Harris’s thoughts and questions stem from his perception of inaction.

Dr.Ken Harris has witnessed a few different things in his experience. One of them being the subtle differences between some people and groups, it amazes Dr.Ken Harris how he’s been able to navigate through situations given his position. Especially when people find out and discover that he’s worn the badge. Then Dr.Ken Harris asked if there’s anything we need to denounce to be successful? Dr.Ken Harris says no, even though some Say that Black people have had to denounce their own kind to ensure they are successful. Are we naturally uncomfortable being our natural selves around people who don’t look like us? Dr.Ken Harris Says yes, but there’s a reason for it.

How can you make an executive decision when you got all these talking heads trying to tell you what to do?

What superstitions do you live by today?

Theres a $487 Thousand dollar difference in white verses black. Yes, that is the difference of when a black family gets a home appraised verses a white family in the SAM EXACT HOME. It is A shame that in order for a black person to get a fair home appraisal in America they have to “Whitewash” it. In 2022 we are still living in an America with subtle Bigotry.

We have to fight back, Dr.Ken Harris says we got to wake up because there are too many of us asleep. You have to be fiercely aware and astute to other people coming into your life and changing it. Without the knowledge and information we are seeking we can form our own opinion and understanding. If you want to give something back, you have to build something first.

Why doesn’t life give you what you want? Dr.Ken Harris has a few thoughts. For one, it’s because life is selfish, another is that life is also self serving, and life is about everybody else. At least that’s how’s it seems to Dr.Ken Harris, he says people go through life with the “I want” mentality and then fall apart when we don’t get it. Would you agree with the sentiment that life doesn’t give you what you want but it always gives you what you deserve? For many, it’s about the effort you put forth that give you your outcome.
