No Sanity Required

How do we guard ourselves against deconstruction? Progressive Christianity starts by rejecting Jesus and creating a new idea of who Jesus is. In this episode, Brody breaks down how new ideologies can creep into our minds and how we should combat them.

We need to commit to studying Scripture to remind ourselves of the essential doctrines we hold to. The Bible is authoritative. Let’s surround ourselves with a godly community and find hope in the Gospel daily.

It is easy to expect the Church to train our kids in discipleship. But as parents, we need to take the discipleship of our children seriously. We need to be an example to our children. In this episode, Brody speaks to parents of little kids and parents who have teenagers/adult children. He walks through how we can trust the Lord with our children in all the stages of their lives.

We need to be investing in the spiritual development of our families. Let’s pray for our children and trust and believe that the Lord is going to change their hearts.

Biblical masculinity is being attacked by our current culture. We need to pursue what the Bible has to say about being a godly man instead of listening to the world. This episode of NSR is from Snowbird’s recent Pure & Holy Retreat.

Brody walks through 4 things a man of God is defined by and 3 masculine virtues. Let’s think about what is godly. The Word of God has a renewing power in our minds. We need to stop making excuses, fix our eyes on Jesus, and pursue holiness.

What is shaping the way you view relationships and sexuality?

The world is pressuring students to figure out their gender identity. We need to seek Christ and show students how to fight sexual immorality. In this episode, Brody points out 4 things we can learn from Romans 12 that push us to commit to walking with Christ in this area of our lives.

Pornography and sexual immorality are heart issues. As we’re being conformed into the image of Christ, we’re going to make mistakes. But we can live in freedom because we have Christ’s Spirit living in us.

Brody also sits down with Spencer Davis to discuss what renewing our minds practically looks like. If we walk by the Spirit, we won’t gratify the flesh. Let’s set our minds on things above and rest in the freedom we have in Christ.

Pornography poses many dangers to relationships, marriages, healthy sexuality, and spiritual formation in our lives. The enemy will use porn to attack believers and distract them from their callings. In this episode, Brody sits down with Jason George, host of The Griz Podcast, to walk through stats and data on how pornography negatively affects our lives.

God’s guidelines are meant to guide and protect you. Sexual immorality is a sin against your own body and soul. Let’s fight sin and fight for holiness in our lives.

We live at a time where everything ordained by God is under attack in the world. The danger we face today is being influenced to embrace a new brand of Christianity that isn’t Christianity at all. In this episode, Brody continues to look at the life of Daniel and compare it to what is happening in today’s generation.

Daniel and his faith outlasted the Babylonian empire; we will outlast this cultural current. God will always preserve a remnant that will outlast cultural ideologies. Let’s impact and equip this generation to be faithful in culture today.

“Daniel was living in Babylon, but his eyes were fixed on Jesus. We are living in Babylon, and we must fix our eyes on Jesus.”

Today's culture does not want you to pursue God. In Daniel 1, we see how the Babylonians tried to stop Daniel from pursuing the Lord by influencing him through their culture. In this episode, Brody talks through the parallels between Daniel 1 and what is going on in society today.

God has called us to live at peace in the world but not with the world. Daniel resolved to stay faithful to the Lord even when no one around him was. Let’s be faithful and stand for what Jesus stands for.

Working in student ministry can be difficult. It is a high calling to shepherd students and lead them to the Lord. For the last 29 years, Brody has worked in student ministry. In this episode, Brody shares a few things he’s learned during that time.

We hope this episode will be encouraging for those of you who are leading students in any way. For those who aren’t, we hope you’ll be faithful to point others to the Lord daily.

Jesus can heal us spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. This episode of NSR is a sermon Brody taught at a recent Winter SWO retreat. In this session, Brody walks through 2 stories in Mark 5 where Jesus healed those with feeble faith.

The safest place you can live your life is behind the cross of Christ. Walk in step with Jesus and trust in Him to heal your soul.

It can get discouraging to see people turn away from the Lord, but we can rest knowing that God will always preserve a remnant of his people. In this episode, Brody walks through stories in the Bible, like Elijah and Noah where God preserved his Church.

Believers, don’t lose hope for this generation. Jesus is advancing his Church. Let’s trust the Lord and be faithful to equip believers around us.
