This week on The Rewind we dig into some tips to help fight the good fight when we are burning the candle at both ends. We are coming to that time of the year when a lot of us will be going nonstop with shows, festivals, traveling, and all the fun that comes with Spring/Summer. We go over some of the ways each of us has learned to care for ourselves over the years, both in major ways, and in some small things too. Think of this one as a PSA for our future selves...

This week on No Simple Road we are super stoked to have Leslie and Chelsea from The Goose Chicks Podcast as our guests. Leslie Mack is a long-time podcaster and jam-band aficionado. She previously produced & co-hosted Blackberry Jams presented by Ben & Jerry’s, an exploration of the intersections between the band Phish and Black Liberation. She brings a healthy obsession with Goose to the show as well as a genuine love for all the Goose Chicks out there. In her non-Goose obsessed life she is a Digital Strategist and Communications Director for The Frontline. Leslie hails from Flatbush Brooklyn and lives in Charlotte, NC.

Chelsea Long is a lover of live music and, with the discovery of Goose, new to the jam scene. She found Goose at the start of her spiritual awakening and has a deep spiritual connection to their lyrics and meditative jams.

Inspired by the Hungersite video series, Chelsea recently left her corporate job in nonprofit administration to start a creative art business making tie-dye clothing and accessories. She hopes to speak on the spiritual and creative connections between Goose’s music and fans.

We talk with the ladies about:

This week on The Rewind we take you on a perilous journey from the snow-filled roads of Portland, Oregon all the way to the sunny beach of Cancun, Mexico! Mel and Aaron recap their journey to see Phish down Mexico way and their experience of trying to leave the city in the midst of the biggest snowstorm since the 1940's. Apple gives an update on his general wellbeing and the three of us talk about what makes moments like traveling to a destination concert well worth the effort and expense.

This week on No Simple Road we are extremely honored to have Bob Bralove and Tom Constanten of Dose Hermanos as our guests! Though both came to prominence associated with the Grateful Dead, Tom as keyboard player from 1968 to 1970, and Bob as an engineer, programmer, and occasional performer from 1987 to 1995, this music is Dead-like only in its wide-open, wholly improvisational exploration of a vast musical universe with only one rule: does the result, said Bralove, “feel like Dose?”

This talk takes us all over the map of the 100 Acre Wood! We talk about:

-Creating music that is completely free of structure with only the idea of an image or picture in mind.

-Why music is different for the perpetrator and the appreciator.

-How the two of them have developed as artists over the years.

-The way Bob received a 'transmission' from The Gyoto Monks.

-Each of their takes on why some folks find spirituality through music.

-Creating the new album 'Persistence Of Memory'.

-How it feels to still be working together all these year later...

..and so much more!

We are so stoked to have LP Giobbi as our guest on No Simple Road this week! LP Giobbi is the forward-thinking, boundary-breaking artist disrupting dance music today. Widely known for her bass-rattling house beats and electrifying live performances, the Oregon-born, Austin-based legend in the making is a “creative multi-hyphenate” (Billboard): an inspirational producer, DJ, label owner, curator, music director, feminist, entrepreneur and Piano House Queen. Since first breaking into the scene in 2018, she’s become one of the fastest-rising artists in dance music, with both Billboard Dance and Your EDM anointing her as an emerging artist to watch.

This is one that'll have you all laughing and crying along with us! We talk wtih LP about:

-Creating the new album 'Light Places' while traveling the entire globe!

-Growing up in the Pacific Northwest and the magick of rain, trees, and green lush surroundings.

-Walking the Las Vegas Strip, stoned for one the the first times ever!

-How she deals with the energies of the crowds and how being an extremely sensitive human being plays into that.

-When LP is an 'artist' and when LP is a 'DJ'.

-Her journey with fashion and music and how and why she landed on vintage tie dyes!

-What her initial reaction was when asked to remix Garcia's album by the Garcia Estate.

-What her experience at Playin In The Sand was like for both her and her Dead Head Parents.

-Meeting Bob Weir and what he said to her.

-Why she started Femme House and what it is doing for women.

-How one loving, caring, and dedicated piano teacher changed her whole life!

We talk all that and more! For more on LP Giobbi including mech, tour info, more info on Femme House, and more... head over to:

This week's rewind begins with a conversation regarding The Big Game's Half-Time Show and what we think of the state of current mainstream entertainment.

Somehow, we end up talking about the current state of affairs regarding psychedelics. What each of us thinks of the decriminalization and legalization for clinical use and how this can be both a good and a bad thing at the same time. Can you put chaos in a box? IS the spirit of the medicine affected by us trying to make it a treatment? We try and get to the root of these questions and more.
