Full Hour | In today’s third hour, Dom leads off by telling of the news of a coming statue of Clarence Thomas that will be built in Georgia, playing back a clip from a Georgia State Senator who called the Supreme Court Justice an ‘Uncle Tom,’ which leads Dom into a discussion about the double standard on race, particularly when used by Democrats as an attack. This leads Dom into a discussion about racial teachings in the country, playing back a clip from a Bishop with Don Lemon who suggested that we need to make white students feel uncomfortable for them to join the fight for equity.
Then, Dom welcomes Nick Sortor, host of the Roundup, a Twitter Spaces Show found @NickSortor on Twitter, to the Dom Giordano Program to take listeners live to the scene in East Palestine, Ohio as the incompetent federal government responds to a train derailment and controlled explosion that has released toxic chemicals both into the air and the water. Sortor updates the situation, telling of recent announcements by state officials warning residents to use bottled water instead of tap water due to the catastrophe, which counters previous announcements that things were safe, further drilling distrust into citizens. Also, Sortor tells about the ‘canary in the coalmines’ of the event, local animals, explaining that he met with a person who rehabilitates foxes who has seen their animals fall sick, one dying, within the past week. In addition, Sortor offers his opinion on the media coverage, and tells why and how the EPA and federal government could be doing more to assist in recovery. (Photo by Alex Wong/Getty Images)
