In this episode, our guest Dr. Lawrence Loh, Medical Officer of Health for Peel Region (in Ontario) discuss leadership, making difficult decisions and what unity looks like in the face of a global pandemic. We discuss why the region of Peel needed a different solution, the intersection of individual health and public health and the importance and value of health equity.  We also discuss community and the importance of having a sense of belonging and Camaraderie can improve health for all. 

Dr. Lawrence Loh is Medical Officer of Health for Peel Public Health, which is the second largest public health department in the province of Ontario serving the communities of Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon in the Greater Toronto Area.

Prior to his current role, he has held positions as medical specialist in Vaccine Safety at the Public Health Agency of Canada, Medical Health Officer for Fraser Health Authority in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Senior Medical Consultant to the Chief Medical Officer of Health of Ontario.

He holds board certifications in family medicine in Canada and in public health and preventive medicine in Canada and the United States.

He lives in Toronto with his wife Jaime and his daughters Jessica and Lia.
