We are committed to pursuing people with the love and gospel of Jesus in the places where we live, work, and play.

To extend the gospel we must know and we must go.

We know the gospel and can articulate it in common language. We know God’s story and understand how it intersects with our story. We can readily give an answer for the hope that we have and can clearly communicate how the grace of Jesus transforms not only our eternity, but also every aspect of our lives.

Because we are leaders, people will hear our words—but they will follow our example. We strive, then, for apologetic integrity that will point people to Jesus.

We are uniquely gifted. We use these gifts to joyfully serve one another and our community.

We are followers first. Our ability to lead is directly proportional to our commitment to follow.

We constantly rely on the Spirit, seek guidance in the Word and through prayer, and submit to the Lord’s leading. We do this personally and corporately, trusting that Jesus will reveal His purposes for His Church.

God is the author of our story. He is writing our role in His redemptive plan. Our strategies are fully surrendered to His will.

This fear can manifest in the long term (“I don’t want to end up alone”) or the short term (trying to always be in contact with other people to avoid solitude). But they are related, because the in-the-moment frenzy for “connection” is often motivated by a longer-term fear.

Many single people fear that they will never get married and/or have kids.

Often the immediate fear of loneliness leads to massive social media usage, or the need to always be texting, phone calling, distracting oneself from the fact of being alone.

This fear is one that obviously holds us back in our growth, faith, and service. Who knows what steps of faith we haven’t taken—spiritual conversations, new ministries, career changes—because we were afraid we might fail?

How does God’s perfect love, which we access through faith in Jesus, cast out the fear of failure and rejection?

Fear strikes us all and holds us back from doing what God wants us to do and being who God wants us to be.

The power we have to fear is not disconnected from the power needed to have faith. The ultimate question is not “how do we eliminate all fear?” but rather “how do we overcome fear, now?”.

This is a super common fear. Why are we afraid of change? It’s often related to our need for control: when something changes, we venture into the unknown and must give up control.
