In Proverbs 31, we see the lengthy mention of a 'virtuous woman', and it talks about the many wonderous things she does for her husband, her children and in the administration of her household. A quick reading of the chapter leads you to see the quality of the 'godly woman', but a closer examination shows you something quite different. It shows you Jesus Christ as the 'mother hen', opening His wings (see Psalm 91) to gather together his children for comfort.
“But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.” Galatians 4:26 (KJB)
Just as Eve gave birth to her earthly children, so are we the children of God begotten through the gospel of Jesus Christ. On this Mother's Day Sunday Service, I would like to show you Jesus Christ and New Jerusalem, which the apostle Paul tells us, is the mother of all of us who believe.
