All through the New Testament, the scripture is surprisingly deferential to kings, rules and all people who are in governmental leadership positions. Those First Century Christians lived during a time of tremendous persecution, so one might understand a 'call to arms' against wicked and evil rulers like the Caesars of the Roman empire. Yet we see just the opposite, we see God calling believers to not only not revolt, but to pray for those whose authority they are under. The reason why this is so very simple and obvious, yet it seems to have escaped the grasp of most Christians in our day.
