With over 28 years of experience, Kristi Forbes is a seasoned expert in the tabletop, gift and housewares industry, having honed skills in leasing, retailing programs, publishing, marketing, events and more. Forbes joined Forty One Madison in 2017 as senior vice president and director, overseeing the building’s 90+ permanent tabletop showrooms including over 200 of the most iconic brands in the tabletop industry and The New York Tabletop Show®. Previously, she was with AmericasMart Atlanta for over 25 years working on all aspects of the business for brands in the home, gift and apparel category, and played a major role in recruiting top global brands to secure showroom real estate at one of the world’s largest trade marts of its kind. Forbes also holds additional roles in the industry and NYC community beyond her position with Forty One Madison by serving on several boards including Gift For Life, Madison Square Park Conservancy, and the Flatiron District BID.
Forbes is a native of Morehead City, NC and holds a fashion merchandising and business degree from East Carolina University. She currently resides in New York City with her husband and Jetta Dog.

Roopa Mehta leads Sasha Association for Craft Producers (India), an exemplary WFTO member selling fashion and home products around the world. Her association with Fair Trade began in 1978 and she moved over full time to Sasha in 1985. She has served on the board of Fair-Trade Forum India and the Asia WFTO board. She was voted on to the WFTO Global board as an independent board member in May 2011. Roopa completed an Economic honors course, followed with an MBA degree from Delhi University. Aid to Artisans has been running its signature Market Readiness Program (MRP) at the NY NOW trade show for 27 years. With the cancelation of the in-person market, ATA has launched its first-ever eMarket Readiness Program. The eMRP is a 4 half-day online course that will be held Aug 11-14.
ATA has brought together a team of industry experts and updated the core content of the MRP to include best practices, and trends in the current market. The program will focus on online solutions and strategies artisan businesses can take to adapt their businesses to sell in the shifting global market.
The eMRP course will benefit international artisan producers, new artisan brands, designers, exporters, and leaders of craft-based enterprises based globally and in the US. The immersive training offers intensive learning, hands-on exercises, one-on-one coaching, and small group learning.
Based on our many years of teaching how to access the market, this practical course offers opportunities for small group networking, with real-world applications, exercises and homework to apply to your business. Each organization will receive a 30 min One-on-One coaching follow up call, and participants will walk away with an action plan for their business that takes them forward confidently the changing artisan market.
