O3C Games

It’s the 22nd stop of our round the world tour, and we’re in PORTUGAL.

Portugese videogame offerings were a wee bit slim, but that doesn’t stop Jonathan and Chris giving Quest of Dungeons and Dakar 18 a good old go anyway.

But what else have the boys played this month? Any more late Game of the Year contenders? You be the judge by listening in to reviews of Fast & Furious: Arcade Edition, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Lumines Arise, Two Point Museum and Demonschool.

HOWDY PARTNER

We’re a few days late, but who’s counting, eh?

The United States of America. It’s a biggun. Fancy hearing about every single game that’s ever been developed in the US of A?

In search of the most American game, the boys find themselves at opposite gaming poles with Jonathan picking through a modern entry in the Call of Duty franchise, whilst Chris attempts to best ‘America’s Greatest Killer of Time (tm)’, the Viacom published and oft forgotten puzzle game Zoop.

Ensuring you get your money’s worth from this whopper of an episode, there’s also thoughts on Hades 2, Sonic Eraser, The Simpsons Hit and Run, Jetpack Joyride, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, 9th Sentinel Sisters, The Exit 8, and Baby Steps.

20 episodes and however many months later, we've hit the midway point in our journey around the world. We're in Ukraine, baby!

Representing Ukraine are The Sinking City, and Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter. Two unlikely bedfellows for sure, but you don't listen to this show to hear us talk about the hits do you?

Oh, you do? Well we also cover Silksong, Clair Obscur, and a bunch of retro nonsense too, so everyone should feel equally happy and placated.

Right.

The dust has settled. We’ve spent a good chunk of time with Nintendo’s new hybrid console and we have thoughts. Lots of thoughts.

How many games has Jonathan already managed to power through? How many games is Chris already hoarding on his shelves?

Expect tired voices offering opinions, reviews, and feelings on everything hardware, software, past, present and future in this EXTRA SPECIAL rubber baby buggy bumper of an episode.

The Switch 2, everyone! The future is NOW!

With Playdate’s second season in the rear view mirror, the airship takes off once more as Chris and Jonathan zip to Switzerland for a little bit of The Bug Butcher, and a wee nibble of Isle of Arrows.

But, with several months having now passed since our last Around the World episode, surely we’ve played some other games too?

Doom: The Dark Ages, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, Limbo, Reed Remastered, Dragon Quest Heroes, Rally Arcade Classics, AND Elden Ring Nightreign are all videogames that we have played. And enjoyed. And now we’re going to talk about.

Can you believe it? We’re back again! Two more Playdate Season 2 games = another episode!

(You lucky sods.)

This week: a lovely interview with Panic’s head of video and media, Christa Mrgan; a bonus review of Catalog title TOP BINZ!; and of course, as is now standard, some lavish praise for this week’s seasonal offerings, Tiny Turnip and Chance’s Lucky Escape.

The boys chat with Jan Martinek, AKA Mouflon Cloud, AKA the developer behind podcast favourites Stars of the Screen and Be Kind To Yourself.

Windows 3.1 screensavers! Feature creep! Playdate hidden gems! Oh, and this week’s divisive Season 2 entries, Shadowgate PD and CatchaDiablos.

IT’S A YELLOW CRANKY HANDHELD AND WE LOVE TO PLAY IT

This week, Jonathan and Chris chat with Arisa Sudangnoi, Panic’s lead for developer relations to talk Playdate’s Season One, Season Two and beyond.

The boys get DOWN AND DANCE with Otto’s Galactic Groove, and deposit their dog’s defecations for MAD SCORE in Long Puppy.

What’s that? The Playdate Season 2 serving up another two absolute rippers?

YOU BET YER BOTTOM
