把“晚饭”换成“午饭”

重新开始，再次开始，再次启动 start again
我们应该重新开始。—>

这是语气很弱/柔和的建议（very weak suggestion）。

There's always the café on Green Street. You could try that.
格林街上总是有咖啡馆的，你可以试试看。

①想要鼓励、鼓舞别人时，有时也会用 there's always …
比如，朋友今年做什么事（考试、比赛等）失败了，第二年可以再尝试，可以说：
There's always next year.
总还有来年。/ 来年再考。/ 来年再比（赛）。/来年再战。

②想要表达得有趣幽默些，有时也会用 there's always …
比如，我有个朋友，特别喜欢某位男艺人，梦想嫁给他，我就说（怼）：
There's always divorce!
总还是有离婚的！/ 结了婚也会离啊！

除了用问句，也可以用陈述句温和地提出建议。

之前学过 could 可以……（中性表达）

You could wear your red dress. 你可以穿你的红裙子。

我们说过，could 比 can 语气上要更温和，所以 You could wear your red dress. 语气上比 You can wear your red dress. 更加温和。

再对比：你有没有想过穿你的红裙子？Have you considered/thought about wearing your red dress?

这句话语法正确，但客气的句式搭配很私人的问题，这样的使用场景非常少。

在用 can/could 提建议时，如果想更礼貌一些，语气没那么强，很实用的方法是在 can/could 后面加上 always

You can always …

You could always …

上上节课学过，家里没有橄榄油了，we could always use butter. （我们还可以用黄油。）

把第一人称 we 换成第二人称 you，就是 you can/could always …

当我们提出建议或提出替代方案时，常用 can always 或 could always  …

You could always try the café on Green Street.

你可以（随时）去试试格林街的咖啡馆。

try the café 试试那个咖啡馆（try the restaurant 试试那家餐厅）

* 如果想降低一下客气程度，就说：

You can always try the café on Green Street.

如果朋友要误了火车/汽车/飞机，你可以建议ta说：

You can always catch the next one. 

你（随时）可以赶下一班。

catch 赶，搭乘（飞机、火车、公共汽车等）

You can always try again.

你总可以再次尝试。

considered 是 consider 的过去分词，consider 考虑，认真地想，仔细地想

thought 是 think的过去分词，think 想，考虑

always 一直，总是；（和could或can一起用）总还可以

A: Oh no! We're out of olive oil.

相对 strong suggestions（强语气的建议），是 weak suggestions（弱语气的建议）
strong 强壮的，强烈的，结实的，坚定的 <—> weak 弱的，（身体）虚弱的，（性格）柔弱的，软弱的；（饮料）稀的，淡的（weak coffee 淡咖啡，I can't stand weak coffee.我喝不了淡咖啡。）

我想我们可以……

* thought 是 think 的过去时。I thought一个意思是过去我想/认为，这里 I thought 表示更加委婉，像（表示礼貌建议时）could 比 can 语气更委婉，might 比 may 语气更委婉。

下面是关于星期六怎么过的建议：
On Saturday, I thought we might go to town and see the Farmers' Market and then I thought we could have lunch in a nice little café by the river.
星期六，我想我们可以到镇上逛逛农夫市场，然后（我想我们可以）在河边找一家不错的小咖啡馆吃午饭。

今天再学一种语气很强的建议（a strong suggestion）：
can't you …?
你（就）不能……

We can use can't you …? to make a strong suggestion.（我们可以用 can't you …? 提出语气强的建议。）

Can't you finish your homework before going?
你就不能出去之前写完作业吗？/ 你就不能写完作业再出去吗？

We often use could to make suggestions.
我们经常使用带有could 来提出建议。

使用 could 的建议（句子）语气有一些是中性的，有一些语气是很强的（strong）。

Could 的否定形式是 couldn't。
Couldn't 的语气比 could 要更强。（Couldn't is stronger than could.）

① 用could的建议 [中性]
A: I have nothing to wear to the party.
B: You could wear your red dress and your black shoes.
A: 我没有去派对的衣服。
B: 你可以穿你的红裙子和黑鞋。
have nothing to wear 没什么可穿的
have nothing to eat 没什么可吃的
have nothing to do 没什么可做（干）的
have nothing to read 没什么可读的

② 用couldn't建议 [强语气]
A: I need to finish this essay by tonight.
B: Couldn't you get up early in the morning to finish it?
A: 我必须在今晚之前完成这篇论文。
B: 你就不能早点起来做吗？/ 你就不能早点起床把它做完吗？

如果是提议别做……，不做……，就用 let's not …

let's not = let us not 

We use let's not … to make negative suggestions.（我们用 let's not … 来提出否定建议。）

negative 否定的，拒绝的；负面的；（医学检验）结果为阴性的

Let's not argue about this. 

我们别为这事争论了。

argue (about) （关于……的）争论，争吵

Let's not spend all night talking about my problems.

我们不要花整晚时间谈论我的问题。

specific 具体的，明确的，确切的；特定的，特有的
general <—> specific

我们可以用 why don't …? 提出具体建议。
We can use why don't …? to make a specific suggestion.

You look really tired. Why don't you take some time out and rest?
你看起来很累，出去休息一会儿吧。

It's getting late in the evening now. Why don't we stop now and work on this tomorrow morning?
