问：既然有“手工摘handpick”，那有没有“机器摘machinepick”这样的词呢？

答：没有的。如果要说机器摘果实，就用machine（机器）做主语：

Machines pick the fruit from/off the trees. 

机器把果实从树上摘下来。

choose后面可以带宾语也可以不带宾语

假设我们是关系好的朋友，一起去图书馆，我和你说：

但是书太多了，很难选，你说：

很难选择。

it's hard to... 难于（做）…，很难（做）…（hard 困难的，艰难的）

这句里choose是不及物动词，后面没有宾语。
