Off The Script w/JDfromNY

WWE is doing everything they can to make SummerSlam better than WrestleMania as SummerSlam is STILL struggling to sell tickets, and WWE is freaking out internally.

With CM Punk and Cody Rhodes slotted for the Main Event, and Oba Femi stepping into Hell In A Cell with Brock Lesnar, SummerSlam is WELL below company expectations but why? Is it a destination issue? Is it a match card issue? Are high ticket prices to blame? Are fans finally speaking with their wallets, and are tired of bad television? Or is all of this completely overblown? Tonight, we take a look into the reasons, go over why WWE rushed to get CM Punk and Cody Rhodes in the Main Event, and why Triple H could be blamed for all of this when all is said and done.

AEW crowned Kenny Omega the NEW AEW World Champion, and it caused quite a bit of division online, with some loving the decision to move onto Will Ospreay vs Kenny Omega, while other believe MJF should have walked into AEW ALL IN as the World Champion. Why did Tony Khan do MJF vs Kenny Omega on AEW Dynamite, and NOT at AEW Redemption? What does Tony Khan have planned for the Redemption Main Event, and will it measure up against a big decision to pull the trigger on MJF vs Omega early? Will MJF find his way back into the Main Event of ALL IN?

Also, Rhea Ripley updates everyone on her injury, and it's not looking good. Chad Gable is going to SummerSlam and Triple should have a walk in the park booking the Intercontinental Championship. WWE unveiled Club WWE, and it's a typical WWE money grab as usual. CM Punk & Cody Rhodes have a disappointing first face to face on SmackDown. And, Jalen Brunson confirmed for Saturday Nights Main Event.

CM Punk walked into Chicago on Monday Night Raw and walked out as the new WWE Champion, ending Sami Zayn's reign at just nine days. JD from New York and Jonathan Coachman break down every angle of what happened. Was this the right call, was it a make good for Punk, and did Triple H book himself into a corner by putting the title on Sami in the first place?

The guys also tackle the Vision winning the Raw Tag Team Championships and what it means for Bron Breakker's future, why MJF must be in the main event of All In at Wembley Stadium no matter what, Sheamus leaving WWE after 19 years and what TKO's treatment of veterans says about the current state of the business, NXT's all-time low rating at the Great American Bash and why WWE is using its developmental brand as a weapon in a war it cannot win, Roman Reigns skipping Chicago with SummerSlam weeks away, Seth Rollins' promo falling completely flat, and the place legends like Jake the Snake Roberts still have in professional wrestling in 2026.

Ten topics, no wasted time. This is The Two Count.

Sami Zayn only lasted 9 days. Some fans are happy it wasn't Cody. And CM Punk is going into SummerSlam as the NEW WWE Champion but is it the right move?

Sami Zayn only lasted 9 days as WWE Champion, and it was CM Punk, NOT Cody Rhodes who ended his reign on WWE Raw last night in Chicago, shaping SummerSlam up to be one of the biggest shows of all time, with two HUGE Championship matches but WHAT ABOUT SAMI? Will Sami Zayn find his way on to the SummerSlam card after last night's WWE Raw in Chicago? Was his reign as WWE Champion too short, and was there another way to figure this out creatively? We discuss EVERY DETAIL from last night's history making Raw in Chicago as we look towards a Cody Rhodes vs CM Punk match at SummerSlam.

Also, Sheamus is set to walk away from WWE after 19 years, as the TKO gave him a low ball contract extension. Certainly a future Hall of Famer, Sheamus now finds himself a free agent this Summer. Where does he land, and what are the best options for him, and why there is a growing concern for talent like Sheamus in the current WWE environment.

on the AEW side of things, MJF defends the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega at Beach Break tomorrow night on AEW Dynamite. Why is Tony Khan giving away this huge match, that everyone speculated would take place at AEW Redemption? Are we looking at a potential rematch at the PPV, or will Tony Khan crown Kenny Omega tomorrow night on AEW Dynamite?

CM Punk wins the WWE Championship as Triple H abruptly ends Sami Zayn's reign as WWE Champion after 9 days.

After Cody Rhodes was taken out by Gunther, Nick Aldis placed one phone call, and CM Punk answered to fill in for Cody Rhodes to take on Sami Zayn for the WWE Championship, and the outcome was expected. With CM Punk the new WWE Champion, what happens going into SummerSlam now? Does Sami Zayn get a rematch for what happened? Why did WWE opt to go with CM Punk and not Cody Rhodes tonight against Sami Zayn?

Also, Seth Rollins is set to address Roman Reigns again this week, after Roman Reigns accepted Seth Rollins challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. Oba Femi discusses Brock Lesnar, and his upcoming battle inside Hell In A Cell at SummerSlam. And, Raquel Rodriguez challenges Sol Ruca for the Women's WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Sami Zayn is coming HOME. The NEW Undisputed WWE Champion returns to SmackDown for the first time since shocking the world at Night of Champions but by the looks of it, his reign may be short lived.

A #1 Contender match is set between Cody Rhodes, and Jey Uso for the right to wrestle Sami Zayn next Monday night in Chicago on WWE Raw...with the heavy rumors of a return for CM Punk ahead of SummerSlam. Does Sami Zayn make it into SummerSlam as WWE Champion or does WWE run right back to Cody Rhodes?

Rey Fenix puts the AAA Cruiserweight Championship on the line against El Hijo del Vikingo in a Champion vs. Champion dream match.

Charlotte Flair, Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green team up to face Jade Cargill, B-Fab and Michin in a six-woman tag. And Brie Bella goes one-on-one with Fatal Influence's Lainey Reid in her first ever singles match on SmackDown.

We could be looking at the end of MJF's AEW World Championship Title run but it won't be because of Mark Briscoe.

MJF defends the AEW World Championship against Mark Briscoe, after Briscoe's team won Sunday's Forbidden Door 12 Man Steel Cage Match. But Mark Briscoe isn't winning the AEW Championship. It's all about REDEMPTION. Kenny Omega is eyeing another shot at MJF, and we could be seeing Tony Khan's plans for AEW ALL unfold.

Also, the vacant TBS Women's Championship will be decided in a Survival of the Fittest Match. Which woman will come out on top, and take the TBS Championship that Willow Nightingale had to give up due to injury?

#AEW #Wrestling #Livestream #WWE #ProWrestling

If you love Pro Wrestling, this past weekend had offerings from WWE, NXT, AEW and TNA, all directly competing against one another. Who won the weekend, which show came out on top, and which show flopped?

WWE presented Night of Champions where Sami Zayn finally became the WWE Champion after beating Cody Rhodes, and Gunther in a Triple Threat match, and both Oba Femi, and IYO SKY won their respective King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments. Brock Lesnar that changed ALL the plans, and challenged Obe Femi to a Hell In A Cell match at SummerSlam. We look at the on going situation heading into SummerSlam, where both World Championships go now that Oba Fem has bypassed his title opportunity.

AEW Forbidden Door never ended, and may very well still be airing as we speak. Nearly 6 hours of Pro Wrestling offered up by Tony Khan, none of which was terribly important, and a show saved by his advertised Triple Main Event. Will Ospreay is going to Wembley Stadium after winning the Owen Hart Cup Tournament, Mercedes Mone, and Maya World put on one of the best Women's match in recent AEW history, and a 12 Man Steel Cage saw Mark Briscoe earn an AEW World Title match with MJF. Did Forbidden Door deliver or was it too exhausting of a watch to fully enjoy?

And, TNA presented Slammiversary, which saw the potential final matches of both Mike Santana and Leon Slater, Nic Nemeth crowned the new TNA World Champion, and Amazing Red inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame. Was this the best first step after a horrible week for TNA, and can they bounce back creatively after firing Tommy Dreamer?

This, and ALL of your Pro Wrestling News on with @JDfromNY and @TheSolomonster on Tuesday Night Titans.
