Craig Carlos-Valentino & Jarrett Smith are back and the MLS season finally kicks off Saturday for the 5 Stripes as they head down to Houston to face the Dymamo. But Barco will not be playing for 6 weeks in an injury during practice this week. So how will this effect the offense going forward? Plus who will step up when giving the opportunity? Jeff Larentowicz, midfielder for Atlanta United, joined The Morning Show with John Fricke and Hugh Douglas to talk about the team’s first regular season game against the Houston Dynamo this Saturday. Larentowicz said the feeling in camp is different than in their inaugural season because they know what to expect in Year 2.

With the addition of midfielders Darlington Nagbe and Ezequiel Barco, Larentowicz said “They really just drive the team forward and they make us more potent offensively.”

He also talked about the increased pressure this season after the success they had in Year 1.

“The expectations are so high and we have to perform for real,” said Larentowicz. ​

Atlanta United radio color analyst Jason Longshore joins Jon Chuckery and Randy McMichael on 92-9 The Game to discuss Atlanta United completing the preseason and previews the upcoming season. 

Doug Roberson covers Atlanta United for the AJC. He chatted Atlanta United with the Dukes and Bell show on Thursday. They discussed the Atlanta United preseason, Ezequiel Barco, best MLS cities to visit, and the concerns going into the season. 

Roberson called Wednesday's match against Minnesota the Five Stripes' best performance of the preseason.
