The non-affirming church makes rules telling you that you’re lustful—your beautiful relationships are demeaned and reduced to being about lust—because there is no room in the church to affirm you.

And we ask: Why the heck does it matter what religious leaders say? Why do people’s lives turn on the approval or non-approval of these authority figures?
