Oh My Word!

CELEBRATE EPISODE 51!

Because that's what we do, celebrate 51 instead of 50, which is what other people do.

Also, this episode is about the off-Broadway musical The Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown.

Even though many of the songs are a bit long and windy, what's most notable about this musical is the structure. The story is told by only two people moving in opposite chronological directions, which makes the stage version the preferred way to see it!

No Safe Harbour, part of the Dear Canada series from Scholastic, is another solid, educational read which once more proves why we're such fans of the series. We're never really sure what Disney will come up with to cause us to clutch our pearls, but we're glad when Pixar still comes through. Soul was a pleasantly surprising family-friendly, positive, affirming story about finding meaning in life and celebrating how joy can be found in simple things. Sure, the story somehow talks about souls without mentioning Divinity or religion, but it's still enjoyable and mainly portrays the right kind of message.
