  • Fuller House: S1E7: Ramona's Not-So-Epic Party (Birthday Series)
    Hey Tanner, Fuller, Gibbler Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today in honor of my 37th birthday I'm covering Fuller House S1E7: Ramona's Not-So-Epic Party, which aired on February 26, 2016.
In this episode Kimmy and Fernando put together Ramona's much-anticipated 13th Birthday party and it doesn't go as planned, for anybody. Meanwhile Steve (out of jealousy) tries to set up DJ's attractive co-worker with Kimmy.
Also in this episode I found out that Hot Dog Crust Pizza from Pizza Hut was actually a thing. Plus DJ's a vet and should have more patience with Cosmo's accidents since he's a puppy and she needs to have more faith in Max's potty training efforts.
I loved Stephanie's love advice to Jackson about just being himself to impress Lola.

In honor of John Stamos’s Birthday tomorrow I covered Full House S2E20: I’m There For You, Babe, which aired on April 14, 1989.
In this episode Jesse's birthday, 26, starts with presents that are quickly followed by demands to help the girls, Danny and Joey. In the evening he's to have a concert but his band has left for another town, so his family pitches in and they become the Tanner Family Band. Yikes! Maybe Jesse should have just sung solo.

  • Full House: S5E16: Crushed (Birthday Series)
Happy Full House Friday Tanner Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Continuing with the birthday theme for the month of August we now move on to Stephanie in S516: Crushed, which aired on January 14, 1992.
In this episode Pop singer Tommy Page performs at Stephanie's 10th birthday party. A tug of war breaks out between Stephanie and DJ over Tommy when DJ takes an interest in him after she takes him on a 2 hour tour of San Francisco. Hearts are breaking in the Tanner house along with misunderstandings, embarrassing baby pictures, wedding invitations and also Michelle is so desperate to make Nicky and Alex (who at this point are maybe 3-4 months old) laugh she enrolls in Joey Gladstone's Comedy College, which ends with Joey getting a pie in the face as Michelle turns the tables on him, will she finally get Nicky and Alex to laugh and prove Michelle has a sense of humor?
    Listen to find out!
I also learned that at one point Danny and Pam might have been anti vaxxers because we learn that DJ got the mumps. I did the math and DJ was born in 1976, the MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)Vaccine was made available in 1971. So, I'm guessing that they learned from that mistake so Stephanie and Michelle must have been given the vaccination at some point.
Aunt Becky is again giving love advice to one of the girls on their birthday. This is a sweet moment and Aunt Becky validates her relationship with Jesse being so solid and built on mutual trust, understanding and commitment that he would never cheat on her.
I bring up the S4E9: One Last Kiss, where Jesse goes to his 10 Year High School Reunion (granted later we learn he never graduated school in S6E19: Subterranean Graduation Blues)he sees his old girlfriend Carrie and he later kisses her while he's at the time engaged to Becky. I consider that cheating. But I'll get more into that when I cover that episode.
Join me next week when I cover S2E20: I'm There For You, Babe, which aired on April 14, 1989 in honor of John Stamos's birthday on August 19.
In this episode Jesse's birthday, 26, starts with presents that are quickly followed by demands to help the girls, Danny and Joey. In the evening he's to have a concert but his band has left for another town.

  • Full House: S3E17: 13 Candles (Birthday Series)
Happy Full House Friday Tanner Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
The Theme for the month of August is Birthdays because I'll be celebrating my birthday later this month.
DJ is the first character out of the four Full House and Fuller House Birthday Themed Episodes, I have chosen to focus on.
Today I covered Full House S3E17: 13 Candles which aired on February 9, 1990.
In this episode the family causes D.J. to become embarrassed at her 13th birthday party, and she admits that she has some feelings for a special boy.
This episode also features DJ's first kiss (and a first kiss for Candace Cameron too) the rest of the family have their own plots going on this episode, Danny and Becky are practicing the Tango for the next Wake Up San Francisco segment to air the following week, Joey and Stephanie are going out to the Daffy Duck Film Festival and Jesse and Michelle are obedience training Comet.
I absolutely loved Kevin Gwin in this episode, he's such a sweetheart and I couldn't think of a nicer boy for DJ to share her first kiss with.
Becky gives DJ great advice about how a kiss is personal and how it shouldn't be something you do because everyone else is doing it, it'll happen at the right time, with the right guy. I loved her story about the three legged race with her crush and how they went for a walk and bumped heads trying to untie the knot holding their legs together then they laugh and fall over and then the guy kisses Becky. Such a sweet story.
DJ's kiss happened naturally in the backyard with Kevin just the two of them not in the living room playing spin the bottle surrounded by 20 of their classmates in their face and breathing down their neck chanting kiss, kiss, kiss pressuring the heck out of them.
Kimmy scared Kevin off. Way to go Kimmy, I get that her heart was in the right place but seriously back off. Her and Kathy Santoni both.
Join me next week for the next birthday themed episode featuring Stephanie in Full House S5E16: Crushed, which aired on January 14, 1992.
In this episode Pop singer Tommy Page (R.I.P) performs at Stephanie's 10th birthday party.
    after that we have:
Jesse's Birthday in Full House S2E20: I'm There For You Babe
    Ramona's Birthday in Fuller House S1E7: Ramona's Not-So-Epic Party

  • Full House: S7E1: It Was A Dark And Stormy Night (Summer Fun Series)
Happy Full House Friday Tanner Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today I have for you the next episode in the Full House Summer Fun Series:
Full House S7E1: It Was a Dark and Stormy Night, which aired on September 14, 1993.
In this episode the girls come back from Camp Lakota (a 3 week not 6 week camp I later learned from Danny as he collects the girls clothes to throw in the wash), The girls still have Camp Brain and haven't adjusted to San Francisco time yet as proven when they chant the Camp Lakota song going up the stairs and that makes the guys and Becky even more depressed like "did they even miss us? Doesn't seem like it."
Jesse and Becky have their own kid dilemma as they try to get Nicky and Alex to adjust to their new race car beds but the boys just want to sleep in the "big bed".
Another example of Jesse and Becky not being firm with their boys and just laughing at their antics and giving in, granted there is a cute scene where Jesse and Becky squeeze themselves into the toddler beds in hopes that the twins will just fall asleep beside them. Fat chance, Jesse and Becky sleep deprived, konk out within minutes and the twins race away to the "big bed". (me shaking my head disapprovingly). But, seriously, What do I know, I'm not a parent.
Meanwhile, Michelle brings home Gilbert the rabbit in a duffle bag. Gah! Let me just say I have a rant about the proper care of a rabbit since I've owned two in my life also the cage set up in the beginning at camp UGH!
The rabbit is what leads the girls to head back to camp and drop him off while there Steve's Cropsey ghost story (told to the kids at the beginning of the episode) comes to life.
The girls get a dose of reality when their precious Camp Lakota memories are tarnished upon arrival to see it's raining, and the powers gone out and Steve's car gets stuck in the mud.
Danny and Joey come to the rescue.
The ending of this episode went a little to far with the smores on Joey's pants, the can of whipped cream and the cherry and then Comet comes along to chomp on Joey's behind.
Honestly, I feel like this whole scene bordered on some pornographic fantasy of someone's (I'm scared to know whos). I understand this scene was meant to be funny, but it was just nasty and uncomfortable to watch.
Join me next week as we enter August (my birthday month) I will be focusing on birthday episodes!
Kicking it off with Full House S3E17: 13 Candles, which aired on February 9, 1990.
In this episode The family causes D.J. to become embarrassed at her 13th birthday party, and she admits that she has some feelings for a special boy.

  • Full House: S6E1: Come Fly With Me (Summer Fun Series)
Happy Full House Friday Tanner Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast.
Today as part of the Full House Summer Fun Series I covered Full House S6E1: Come Fly With Me, which aired on September 22, 1992.
In this episode DJ comes back from a summer spent in Spain with a new boyfriend Steve in tow(to become a series regular), Stephanie and Michelle stow away on a plane to New Zealand, Nicky and Alex go from infants to toddlers in 8 weeks with mop long blond hair, and Joey becomes a stalker as he's determined to track down the phone number of a girl he met at the beach who's name he can barely remember and ends up harassing an 86 year old woman with his Tasmanian Devil impression, Yikes! Jesse's tour based on his one hit song "Forever" leads his song to go from 68 to 99 in just 8 weeks on the Billboard charts. Sorry, Jess but you can't call it a complete album with one hit borrowed song and a bunch of covers.
He's so desperate to cling to his one hit wonder status, his one moment in the spotlight, he clings to this one woman who saw him play at the Boise Bowl-a-rama, who organized these tour stops, lookin' at you Fat Fish Music. He takes her camera and takes a pre selfie of them and says they'll get the picture developed and get a bite to eat and talk about the concert.
    Gah, Jesse!
Becky's right, fans don't want to be stalked by stars.
I'll be off next week so no new episode, but I'll be back on July 26 with Full House S7E1: It Was A Dark and Stormy Night, which aired on September 14, 1993.
In this episode DJ, Stephanie and Michelle come home from summer camp. Michelle brings home a rabbit she was supposed to let go, but as Danny says he should be let go, DJ, Stephanie and Michelle go back to camp with Steve and let the rabbit go. When they get there they find the bunny gone, Steve's car stuck and a surprising visitor.

  • Full House: S3E11: Aftershocks
    Hey Tanner Fans,
Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh My Lanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast
    ‪Hey Tanner Fans,‬ ‪Today, I covered Full House S3E11: Aftershocks, which aired on December 8, 1989.
‬ ‪In this episode an earthquake hits the Tanner home and Stephanie is struggling with the constant fear of losing her father.‬ ‪
I’m going to be honest, this episode is not your usual light and fluffy fun Full House Episode, the episode focuses on one of the main character’s of the show, middle child 8 year old Stephanie played by Jodie Sweetin who is suffering from PTSD due a recent earthquake.
This is a side of Stephanie we have never seen before. While everyone else has moved on from this event Stephanie can’t move forward, living with the day to day constant fear of losing her father. This was all set in motion when Danny was 3 hours late the day of the earthquake and the family was unable to get a hold of him.
Stephanie begins to follow her father around the house, sleeping in his bed so she can make sure he’s ok and knowing where he is at all times, she asks to come to work with him and when he refuses, she invites him to school.
Jesse and Joey voice their concerns of Steph’s clinginess to Danny who brushes it off and chalks it up to simple adoration.
When Danny has to leave the house to go to a no kids allowed work dinner Stephanie breaks down begging Danny not to leave. Now he is faced with the fact that something is seriously wrong with Stephanie.
Joey and Jesse tell Danny this problem with Stephanie is not going away and it’s getting worse, he needs to seek professional help. I understand Danny’s hesitation, admitting outside help for him probably makes him feel like he’s failing as a father.
Luckily, a child psychologist is able to help diagnose Stephanie’s fears through a family picture Stephanie drew and they put together a list of how to cope and move forward in the healing process.
I feel Stephanie’s fear of losing Danny also stems from the fact that she lost her mother. The only piece of info we have from that day is in an episode of Fuller House where DJ mentions that Stephanie hid in her room and refused to come out when she learned of Pan’s death.
I wanted to cover this episode, because of what’s currently going on in California, and the effects that earthquakes can have on people. The physical and the mental aspects. We all handle trauma in our own way. PTSD is real. You can’t run from it and you can’t deny it.
Jodie Sweetin knocked it out of the park with her acting.
My heart goes out to you California.‬
Have a great week everyone and be safe!
