We're talking all about SEO and why you should care about it.

My guess is if you clicked on this episode, you know this is something you should be doing.

I hope your New Year is going well.

I am starting a series here all about search engine optimization, or SEO.

Most people don't really like SEO because it's kind of annoying and difficult. But if you have a website,  it's a necessary evil. Most people think it's just about finding keywords and stuffing them anywhere they can in their posts and pages, but it's actually much more than that.

At the same time, it's not really as hard as you think.

But it feels like a daunting subject because unless you're an SEO expert… and have been studying this forever... it's like, "Oh my gosh, you might as well tell me that I need to start coding my website from now on because it's just way too much on top of all the other things that you need to do."

We're just going to start breaking it down. In this podcast episode I'm going to tell you what it is and why you should care. Then in future episodes I'm going to tell you how you can do what you need to do with your SEO.

First things first, what is SEO?

It's what you do to rank in search engines. And I'm not talking about just Google… any search engine. Google is one of them. Bing, Yahoo, whatever else people use to look for stuff.

But it's not you the big ones. It's also things like Facebook, Pinterest. Anywhere that you type into a search bar and people would go to look for something in particular. That is going to be a type of search engine.
