Today's episode is all about Google Keep and the Notes app that comes with IOS.

Now the reason I'm going over both of these and comparing them is because I'm actually trying to decide which one I want to use.

There are lots of other notes apps out there. One of the big ones is Evernote. So if you're already using something like Evernote, this probably isn't even worth it for you.

But the reason I'm going over Google Keep and Notes app is because these are both free. They're both basic but they both do a lot.

I know Evernote has a free version. I've never really gotten into Evernote. I've kind of gotten option paralysis, so I think I would need to take a full on course on how to use Evernote. I've tried using it but then I just like... ooh... I totally get overwhelmed. I just want something basic for keeping notes on.

I've been trying to use Google Keep, but I'm so used to using the Notes app that it's automatic for me to use the Notes app. I'm trying to use Google Keep to see if I actually like it better.

But let's just go over what the functions are of each one. And then we'll go over and see which one probably would work better for you.

Both of them you can take notes. Both of them sync up.

I'm also going to go over a little bit the difference between an ESP versus a landing page. People get a little confused on this subject, so hopefully I can spell it all out for you so you understand exactly what's going on.

This episode is about turning off the video autoplay in your Facebook feed and your Twitter feed.

Some people are fine with it. Some people don't realize that they could turn it off. Some people, it drives them crazy.

A while ago now, goodness, I think it was a couple years ago, there was a horrible tragedy that was captured on video and the man who perpetrated the tragedy uploaded it. I believe it was to Facebook. I don't know about Twitter, but I believe it was to Facebook. And with that video autoplay feature, people were ... it got shared because people are like, "Oh my gosh, I can't believe this happened."

So, people would be going through their Facebook feeds and this tragedy basically unfolded right before their eyes. And they kind of had no choice but to see it.

I was one of the lucky ones that it did not pop up in my feed, but I was PO'ed. I don't know if your kids are listening to this, 'cause I really want to say what that stands for, but I was really, really angry that that was even allowed to happen.

I went in and I searched and searched and made sure I found a way to turn off that stupid autoplay. And I will tell you, I have loved not having autoplay on.

Ads don't autoplay. I don't automatically get sound. I don't have this visual going on in front of me. I make the choice whether or not I want to start that video.

I am going to share with you that you can turn it off on both of them. You do not have to have it autoplay in your feed...

I've used quite a few different email service providers over my business career, and these are the two I like the best, especially for beginning business owners. I think those are the two best for non-techies. And they are the two best if you want to get your email system marketing up and running quickly.

And they're the easiest, I think, for doing it all yourself. So you don't have to have any big team doing it for you. It's really easy to get in there, do we need to do and then get out.

Is your phone getting full? Do you have a ton of pictures that you don't know what to do them?

And what if your phone died? I actually just saw this. Somebody posted it. And it popped up in my Facebook feed. They were horror stricken because their phone had died. I can't remember if they dropped it in water, something.

We are continuing on with our email marketing series.We're in the third week. And today's particular episode is about:

What Is the Difference Between an ESP (Email Service Provider) and a CRM (Customer Relationship Management System)

First off, let's go over what they stand for so that may help right there.

ESP stands for email service provider.

CRM stands for customer relationship management.

The problem is that people are using these two acronyms interchangeably all the time. I'm not sure that they know exactly what they stand for; I think that's why they just get used interchangeably.

The problem is when you're new to this whole environment. And you don't know what they stand for. And you don't know how to use them. And what you're supposed to do with them, it starts to get really confusing.

In fact, I think it was a couple years ago when I realized that I was listening to my business gurus that I follow. And they were using them interchangeably.

And then, it got to the point where a couple of 'em were like, "I don't even know what this stands for. I don't even know which one means what. What am I supposed to be using?"

I'm like, "Alright, if you guys don't even know, somebody needs to figure this out." I went, I figured it out. And it's like, "Okay, now it makes total sense."

I think the problem is, it's one of those things that if it's not your job specifically, you don't really know all the intricate details of it.

But you wanna get to know the details especially of ESPs because even if you're just starting your business, it is something you're gonna need to use...

We are kicking off a series all about email lists and email marketing and to help you get to understand all this stuff that you're supposed to understand.

Because I don't know about you, but when I first was getting into business, people would tell me... All the time... All the gurus would say, "You need to get an email list going. You need to get your email marketing going."

And I'm like, "What are you talking about? I have an email account. Does that count?"

But, it doesn't. So, there is a lot of information to learn. But it's one of those things once you learn it, you're like, "Oh, okay. I get it now. It makes sense. So, now I just have to continue forward."

So, today we're just gonna cover some basics about what is an email list and then why you need one for your business. The whole reason why you need to have this email list and continue growing this email list.

And this works if you have an online business or you have a brick and mortar store. And email list can be huge for your business.

Now obviously, if you have an online business, that's probably even more. But if you have a brick and mortar store, this could be amazing for your business too. And instead of just trying to depend upon foot traffic.

Why Do You Need an Email List for Your Business?

Every other space that you have out there is rented, except possibly your website. (But that's another podcast that we're gonna get into in a few weeks.) But, if you use social media for your marketing to try and get people into your store, or to get people to buy stuff from you, it's all rented space. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, all of them.

Algorithms change all the time. I'm sure you've heard of the algorithms right? That's the super secret computer software formula. It chooses to see who gets to see what in their newsfeed or in their Instagram feed...
