OTB's Saturday Panel

This week, the Saturday Panel looks back on the week that was in Gaelic Games with Mick Foley of the Sunday Times, Brendan O'Brien from the Irish Examiner and Virgin Media's Tommy Martin.

The panel discuss the start of the Super 8s, the proposals to increase the size of the Leinster hurling championship, the idea that Kerr (and other GAA fans!) are "animals", and Tyrone's apology for singing rebel songs on their team bus.

Arsenal and Irish defender Louise Quinn joined Nathan for the Saturday Panel to discuss the World Cup which sees USA take on Holland in the final on Sunday as well as the shock departure of Colin Bell from Ireland

We had four of this year's inter-county football managers in studio with Nathan - Liam Kearns, who recently left Tipperary after four years in charge, Louth manager Wayne Kierans, Wicklow boss John Evans, and Carlow manager Turlough O'Brien.

We're talking Dublin funding, championship structures, GAA appeal and ban processes, and the death of the Leinster championship.

Nathan Murphy is joined on stage by two Barr's legends, Ger Cunningham and Gerald McCarthy, as well as Cork hurling legend Tomás Mulcahy for an OTB Roadshow Special in St Finbarr's, Co. Cork.

They look back on the days when "the Glen, the Barrs and the Rockies" dominated the Cork hurling landscape, as well as reminiscing on some great days spent in the Cork jersey.

Professor Niall Moyna from DCU, Sinéad O'Carroll, News Editor at The Journal.ie, and John Greene, Sports Editor at the Sunday Independent all joined Neil Treacy in studio for The Saturday Panel.

Topics included concussion in the GAA, the death of the Leinster senior football championship, and the interest around the 2019 Women's World Cup.

The discussion ranged from Katie and Ruesha's coming out stories to a discussion around Israel Folau's homophobic comments and the need for young people to have sporting role models who are members of the LGBT community.

Dublin star Bernard Brogan, Mayo's Andy Moran, and Galway footballer Damien Comer joined Shane Stapleton in studio to talk injuries, dealing with defeat, the year ahead and prolonging careers.

Supervalu sponsor Off The Ball’s Gaelic football coverage and on Thursday,  they launched their 10th year as sponsor of the GAA Football All-Ireland Senior Championship.

Joined by their GAA ambassadors Bernard Brogan, Andy Moran and Damien Comer, SuperValu revealed that they will contribute over €2.6 million to the GAA and GAA Clubs across the country, this year.
