Welcome back to Our Free Bodies! In this week's episode, I will be introducing the concept of intuitive eating. In my opinion, this multi-faceted eating style is a powerful and revolutionary tool that changes the way people think about food and its main purpose. It is also being incorporated into more studies, research, and eating disorder recovery journeys, including my own! I will first discuss current updates of my recovery journey, including the fulfillment of certain summer goals and major improvements in my mindset towards my body. Then, I will move on to defining intuitive eating (and what it is not), as well as stating its 10 major principles. This is a huge topic, so there will be subsequent episodes that will further discuss the philosophy behind intuitive eating, including body appreciation and implications behind diet culture. Enjoy!
