Our Moms Think We're Funny

Acomi and Turk182 hop into the Funback machine and take a trip to the glorious 1980s, specifically the golden age of adult films. Or, was it, though?

Video was replacing film and threatening to saturate the market with low quality and low production products. AIDS was a growing issue that the government wasn't acknowledging. And, the industry was nearly brought to it's knees (pun intended) by a "not ready for prime-time player" scandal.

Turk, relates the story of actress and one-time adult film performer Traci Lords, and how she, with or without help, almost destroyed the adult entertainment industry. And, much to his displeasure, acceptance of another perspective.

Acomi and Turk182 debate over how honest they would be with their children because of singer Janice Ian and Doris Day.

After Turk takes jabs at the naïveté of the young lady in Ian's song At Seventeen, he turns to Day's Que Sera, Sera. There, they diverge on coddling versus brutal honesty. Your classic psychological "hard mother", "soft mother" theory. ("m-m-m Marshal Law")

Join Acomi and Turk as they debate over whose kid will be an entitled not, and whose will be a bully. And, see how Turk reacts when Acomi doesn't "yes, and" him.

Acomi and Turk182 go through a Rolling Stones article reviewing 50 Best Songs By Made Up Musicians. These are original songs in movies that were performed by fake bands in said movies.

Acomi and Turk read through the list to see how many of these fake songs and bands they know, and how many of them they think deserved to make the top 50 cut.

Acomi and Turk182 brace themselves for a post apocalyptic future where "contaminated" citizens are cast into the wasteland and hunted for sport. A future where amusement comes from being The Final Executioner (1984).

Not to be confused with The Bronx Executioner (1989) which used footage from The Final Executioner to make a very similar, while confusingly different, movie.

Either way, neither of them make any sense.

Acomi and Turk182, along the occasional special guest, provide running commentary of awfulsome movie and TV shows. The hosts select movies that either one, or both, have never seen. All jokes and comments are improvised. NO PREPARED JOKES OR COMMENTS!

During recording, the movies are watched at a low volume and with the subtitles on. Viewers may want to turn subtitles on as well to enhance the viewing experience.

So, cue up the audio, ready the movie, and hit play when we say so.

Note: This is commentary recorded by Acomi and Turk182. The commentary can be enjoyed on its own, but if you want to experience the Let's Watch! in all its glory, you'll need your own copy of the movie. Most of the movies viewed can be streamed online for free.
