This week the whole gang is together while Fatty shares a defintely not real story of a young Fatty being in the back of a police car and that whole experience feeling like he was being set up for something he may or may not have actually done.  Commando vaguely remembers riding around in a police car but not because of being arrested but rather to find a suspect.   Sarcastro witnesses a former co-worker voluntarily locking himself in the back of a police car that wasn't running and the windows were rolled up during a hot summer day.

This week Commando makes it to the studio late to recored because he was shopping at Costco so of course Sarcastro, Fatty and Banky had to review his receipt to judge his purchases.

Fatty makes the poorest choice of the week by not looking at the expiration or sell by dates on the lunch meat in his fridge.

Welcome to The First Ones, an Our POoRCHoices podcast.  On this series Sarcastro picks a show from yesteryear and then rallies some (or all) of the fellas to join him in recapping just the first episode of said show while dissecting it and determining if it's a show that would fly in today's entertainment landscape.

This month Sarcastro is joined by Fatty, Banky and friend of the show and co-host of The Sunnydale Diaries, a Buffy the Vampire Slayer podcast, Queen Mel to talk about a show she recommended, Tales from the Darkside.  A horror anthology series which Sarcastro was the only one on the show who had never heard of it. 

The first episode happened to be an actual aired pilot that first hit television around Halloween in 1983 and was about a loan shark played by Barnard Hughes (Grandpa from The Lost Boys) and who happened to enjoy Halloween so much he put on a free haunted house for the kids of the indebted parents in town.   The episode also stars Max Wright making his second appearance on The First Ones from the premier episode on ALF.

This week the gang talks about a couple of recent news articles the first is about a man arrested after being found in a display tool shed at a hardware store and the second is about major brand of coolers where a couple models have been recalled due to amputating portions of fingers and causing other injuries.

Fatty gets reminded that he's not the spring chicken he used to be after a weekend of adding upgrades to his party shed at the lake.  Sarcastro learns the hard way that you really have to wash jalapeno pepper oil off your hands quite throroughly.  Banky acknowledges that he may have more Yeti products than any one household actually needs after Fatty calls him out during a recent game night.

This week Sarcastro, Fatty and Banky talk about a couple of news stories involving a raccoon in Ohio which should have been busted for possession and a woman in Florida getting scammed by a fake Keanu Reeves she met through an online game.   Fatty makes a poor choice in changing the schedule for his new automatic vaccuum cleaner which learns bad habits from his dog before he proceeds to talk about his upcoming poor choices for next week.  Banky gets sucked in to watching a terrible Jim Belushi reality show which couldn't be more fake.   Intro and Outro music written and performed by Andrés Rodríguez (Androzguitar). 

This week the gang learns you can't fix stupid with news stories of people making some significantly poor choices including a teacher, the son of a defensive coordinator, and a hiker on Mt. Fuji.   Sarcastro & Fatty have a mutual poor choice in going to the movies with their kids and Commando learns a valuable lesson in appliance maintenance.  Intro and Outro music written and performed by Andrés Rodríguez (Androzguitar). 

This week the fellas discuss various cocktails and spirits they enjoy, or don't.  Fatty shares his very loose recipie for a what's basically a hillbilly beverage.  Then the group comes up with a plan to make a terrible business plan to introduce a new alcoholic beverage in the market.

This month Sarcastro selected the late 80's show, My Secret Identity, starring a young Jerry O'Connell just three years off of starring in Stand By Me and 6 years before his stint on Sliders.   Banky joins in to help recall how much they actually don't remember about the show and question the writers' decision to have the power of flight propelled by hairspray cans used to rescue a damsel in distress when the main character had super speed.  As they look to find who could play the main character in a reboot of the series, Sarcastro suggests using Prince Sarcastro as the new teen star and Captain (Sarcastro's dad) as the crazy scientist neighbor.

This week the whole gang joins in for the kick off of season five where they discuss Sarcastro getting minorly assaulted by Prince Sarcastro and Fatty starting a new fat guy themed line of tactical training and cooling garments.   The poor choices made this week have Commando underestimating the time and distance of a family hike and Banky spending too much time in the direct sun doing the very mininal amount of physical activity with an unexepected result during the show.  Intro and Outro music written and performed by Andrés Rodríguez (Androzguitar).
