Welcome to the The First Ones an Our POoRCHoices podcast.  On this series Sarcastro picks a show from yesteryear and then rallies some (or all) of the fellas to join him in recapping just the first episode of said show while dissecting it and determining if it's a show that would fly in today's entertainment landscape. In episode four of The First Ones, Sarcastro is joined by Fatty and Banky to discuss the first episode of The Bob Newhart Show, starring Bob Newhart playing a psychologist named Robert Hartley who makes his living off the good people of Chicago and their problems.  There's no question that everyone liked the show enough to watch it but they all wonder why the character's name isn't also Bob Newhart since it's his name in the title. This week the gang gets together to talk about some disappointments they've experienced including one they all felt in the recent Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight which leads them to share individual disappointments they felt which inlcude Sarcastro watching the time Giraldo Rivera opened Al Capone's vault on live television.  Fatty recalls the end of the show Lost.  For Commando it was the anticlimatic end of the OJ Simpson chase.   In the name of science, Banky finds disappointment in a holiday side that happens to hold a special place in Commando's heart (and stomach). This week the fellas get together to talk about Rachael "Raygun" Gunn retiring from competetive breakdancing.  Then about a bear that was murdered while eating pancakes in Tennessee a Wisconsin man who poorly tried to fake his death and is on the lamb, then about a science expiriment where people can communicate with each other while unconscious and some of the uncomfortable situations that can arise from sharing dreams with your friends.  Intro and Outro music written and performed by Andrés Rodríguez (Androzguitar).

This week the fellas get together to talk about Banky's experience with his hotel in Milwaukee, the gross side effects of one of his medications and their poor choices including Prince Sarcastro starting to take snacks into the bathroom.  Intro and Outro music written and performed by Andrés Rodríguez (Androzguitar).

This week the whole gang gets together to discuss phobias that they have which include getting blood drawn, sensory deprivation, public parking, foam stuffing and glitter.  But before that they talk pizza and a particular mall, airport and highway rest stop "pizza" chain. In episode three of The First Ones, Sarcastro is joined by Fatty and Banky to discuss the first episode of All in the Family, starring Carrol O'Connor, Jean Stapleton, Sallie Struthers and Rob Reiner.  It's the story of a New York City family locking horns on societal and political views on how the world should work and how we should treat each other as a society which feels like it's holding a mirror up even today to make us look at ourselves and makes the fellas realize how much of the old ways of thinking are still present over 50 years later. This week Corporal returns and the whole gang talks about the voices (or lack thereof) they have in their heads when they do various tasks like read books, read emails, do basic math problems, or just while doing random activities.  That topic shifts into several other discussions including what movies based on books failed to make the same impact as the books for them. In the line up of poor choices for the week, Corporal finally uses a birthday present he was gifted a year ago, Commando and Fatty have a joint poor choice in not planning ahead for food and Banky ponders taking on a lighting rewire job at home. This week the fellas discuss that so often there are two types of people in a relationship, those who believe that showing up on time means you're already late and those who don't give a damn about time.   In the realm of poor choices for the week, Commando is second guessing his recent pop-up tent purchase for which Sarcastro offers an alternative use for to make it not a poor choice.  Sarcastro makes a poor choice in taking a short cut for a dinner recipe and Fatty learns that no good deed goes unpunished.  Intro and Outro music written and performed by Andrés Rodríguez (Androzguitar).

This week the fellas talk about Sarcastro's update about his experience after having Hurricane Milton blowing through town, the benefits of the bar and breakfast at Embassy Suites hotels, and taking the kids to Halloween haunts.   Fatty provides an update on the poker run he was doing at the lake, Sarcastro gets the silent treamtment, Commando screws up his Spotify algorithm and Banky starts to experiment on himself for food sensitivities and receives some advice from Dr. Fatty.   Intro and Outro music written and performed by Andrés Rodríguez (Androzguitar).
