That's why Peter had a great time watching the race from the perspective of Marc Márquez' dashcam. But what exactly went wrong with his bike, and could it have been prevented? Mat and Peter are on the case, and it seems that the killer is that good-for-nothing ride height device...

And actually, come to think of it, Márquez wasn't the only rider that had a weird time in Austria. And how many times in a row has Ducati now dominated the podium? The Red Bull Ring is Silverstone's evil twin: a track that demands vicious and long braking, full of elevation and with very little flow. If you think that sounds too negative, you could also say that it's like a northern Mugello: a place where technical skills are pushed to the limit by riders that have to showcase perfect mastering of stop-and-go manouvering. And just like the energy drink that it's named after, the Ring will definitely raise your heartbeat and give you cold sweats...

Want to be a famous MotoGP racer? Then you'd better start young, move to southern Europe and make a name for yourself. And one of the best places to do that is in Red Bull Rookie Cup.

This week, we invite former racer and journalist Peter Clifford for a chat. For the last 18 years, he's been responsible for guiding and helping the young talent in the Rookie Cup. He's worked with people like Acosta and Binder when they were just teenagers, and knows exactly what goes into developing young talent into legendary riders.

What's the selection process like? How do you make sure that talent from all over the world gets a fair shot? And what does he think about the future of MotoGP, as someone who works with the next generation of riders on a daily basis?

 It's a party at Silverstone, as MotoGP celebrates 75 years of racing there. Or is it actually 76 years? Never mind, back to the celebrations! And there's nobody with more reason to celebrate as Ducati, who continue their spree of dominating the podium with Enea Bastianini, Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia taking respectively first, second and third place.

But look behind the results, and you find a race where the bleeding edge tech that dominates modern racing collides with a track that has some serious old school quirks. And that leads to some really funny racing, especially when the new tire rules come into play...

Also in this episode: Peter is making record time with his introduction, some lessons from Hogwarts and Mat explains why bikes will never look better than when they take the form of a cigarette package travelling at 180 mph. Enjoy!

When asked to report his experiences of Silverstone, Peter described it as "a place full of history and tradition, that can also be wet, grey, cold and miserable."

Thinking about motorbike engineering, the first thing that springs to most peoples' minds are the nuts and bolts: the incredibly complicated moving engine parts, hydraulics and all the other things that you'd entrust a mechanic to fix with his toolbox. But that's just one part of the bigger picture. Amidst the steel and carbon there's a verifiable web of wires, connecting and crisscrossing microcomputers and sensors all over the bike. They're the nerves that drive the metal muscles of the machine - and they've been here for much longer than you may think.

In this episode, Mat and Peter are diving straight into the electronics. So get ready for high tension and sparks as we go from the earliest traction control systems to prehistoric data loggers and the modern use of fly-by-wire design. Cheers!

 Do you want to know the guilty pleasure of any rider? It’s that split second during a heated battle, that magic moment where you see your opponent’s movements slipping, slipping and then, finally, the crash. Nothing serious, mind you. He’ll be back next race.

It’s a story as old as time, and this weekend it was performed by Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia at Sachsenring. 

But besides the great battles, there are some other incredibly interesting observations to be made. For example, this is the first time in the history of MotoGP that one manufacturer has dominated the podium six time in a row. So what is the secret of Ducati’s succes here? And, going all the way to the opposite end of the spectrum, why is KTM still struggling? Mat and Peter have some ideas.
