This week Tom & Zeus interview four of the best bands that were on KISS Kruise XI. Black Sabbitch, Plush, Sisters Doll & L.A. Maybe each make an appearance on this super deluxe edition of Shout It Out Loudcast.
While on KISS Kruise XI, Tom & Zeus saw Black Sabbitch, Plush, Sisters Doll & L.A. Maybe each perform. The guys were blown away by all four bands and invited them to come onto SIOL to talk KISS, KISS Kruise XI and each of their bands.
Tom & Zeus came away with 4 amazing interviews. First, founding member and drummer Angie Scarpa, bassist Melanie Makaiwi, guitarist Emily Burton and lead singer Alice Austin from the kick ass all woman led Black Sabbath cover band, Black Sabbitch join the guys and tell some great stories, many of them untold.
Next, guitarist Bella Perron, bassist Ashley Suppa and drummer Faith Powell of the amazing all female rock band, Plush join SIOL to talk about their exciting career and of course KISS. Listen to them talk about, "Uncle Ace!"
Sisters Doll were the third awesome band to join SIOL. They are made up of three young Australian brothers, lead singer and guitarist Brennan Mileto, bassist Austin Mileto and drummer Bryce Mileto. The glam rock band share their amazing story and how Peter Criss helped them along the way and so much more.
Finally, SIOL is joined by songwriter and guitarist Dallas Dwight of the bad ass classic rock sounding band, L.A. Maybe. Dallas shares some fun stories from the Kruise and some awesome insights about the music scene.
So take your time, listen, and learn all about these 4 incredible bands and their KISStory and get out and support each of them!
Once again stay away from the bathroom across from the buffet!

Welcome concertgoers, music fanatics, and Deadheads. My name is Lance Ingram and in this episode of Yesterday’s concert, author Mark A. Rodriguez discusses his book, After All Is Said and Done: Taping the Grateful Dead 1965-1995. Grab your earplugs because we’re talking about B&P tape trading.

When their forces combined, Elizabeth Fraser and Robin Guthrie created some of the most ethereal, mysterious, and glimmering alt rock of all time. With every track absolutely drenched in reverb and lush textures from Guthrie's signature guitar tone, and Fraser's celestial vocals spanning operatic heights to wailing punk rock, Heaven or Las Vegas is truly the most radiant jewel in dream pop's crown.

Author Brian Sallerson leads Ray and Markus through the path he took to writing his first book, Island Music: The History Of AIR Studios Montserrat, an essential history of an important recording environment in paradise! A unique jewel in its time, AIR Montserrat, built and run by Sir George Martin, as part of the era of destination studios, has fascinated many, including Markus and Ray.
How and why Brian came to the project via an epiphany of sorts is discussed, and he explains how he went from looking into Martin's Caribbean recording oasis to visiting it in its current state. Beyond the glitz and glamour, he found the deeper stories of the studio; it's equipment and construction challenges, and most importantly, the people.
Whether they worked at the studio or not, the people of the island made every artist's journey a better experience. Brian also explains how the island and its people became the main character of his book.

We recently realized that we’ve been doing this show for almost two years and have rarely talked about modern rock and roll. That got us thinking – is rock and roll dead? The airwaves and Billboard charts are dominated by hip hop and country artists. The biggest draws on the concert circuit are older acts. So in this episode of Prisoners of Rock and Roll, we’re going to talk about the current state of rock music and ask ourselves if rock and roll matters any more? We’re going to play some songs from some bands and share our thoughts.
Our show is sponsored by our home base of McCusker's Tavern at 17th and Shunk Streets in Philadelphia. We are proud supporters of our friends at Boldfoot Socks. We are just one of the dozens of awesome shows on the Pantheon Podcast Network.

If you grew up in the 70s & 80s like we did, you knew Blue Oyster Cult for their radio hits Don't Fear (The Reaper), Burnin for You and Godzilla. Or you might know them from Fast Times at Ridgemont High - "No I don't have any Blue Oyster Cult, I ate 34 pairs last time around - where were you?" Of course children of the 90s will never forget the famous Cowbell Sketch with Christopher Walken.
But Blue Oyster Cult are still touring after 50 years and we want to explore their legacy with the man who has literally written the book on BOC (several books, actually), Martin Popoff. We ask Martin to recall how he found the band as a young man, saw them play live, got Eric Bloom's autograph on a $1 bill and interviews he conducted with band members over the years. In addition to their string of successful gold & platinum releases over the years, we explore how success, MTV and outside influences led to their demise. Plus The Wolf laments on the various missed opportunities he's had to see them live over the years.

On the 8th Episode of Dorm Damage with Tom & Zeus the guys discuss the state of music and streaming services. Even though vinyl and even the CD have made comebacks, streaming services like Spotify, Pandora and Apple still dominate the music scene.
Tom & Zeus have a conversation about the pros and cons of the streaming dynamic. What benefits the music fan and the artists. Who does it benefit? Is there difference between artist like Taylor Swift or our friends, Restrayned. What's their preference and what they would like to see changed.
A fun and interesting music discussion on the state of music done SIOL style.

Zeena Schreck, formerly LaVey, is an interdisciplinary visual and musical artist based in Berlin, Germany.
Raised within the Church of Satan, she came to international prominence early in life as the organization's High Priestess and first public spokesperson, defending the Church in the 1980s during the infamous media-fuelled U.S. Satanic Panic. She resigned her position in 1990, severed ties with her father, Anton LaVey, and renounced Satanism and Western occultism to pursue her own religious path, which led to her becoming a practitioner and lineage holder of Tibetan Tantric Buddhism.
In early October 2022, I had the great pleasure of interviewing Zeena about her godfather, the avant-garde filmmaker Kenneth Anger, for Episode 6 of Rock is Lit, which features Zachary Lazar’s rock novel ‘Sway’, a story that brings together the early Rolling Stones, members of the Manson Family, and Kenneth Anger’s film ‘Invocation of My Demon Brother’ in a fictional setting.
During my lengthy conversation with Zeena, we ventured into a lot of unrelated territory that didn’t make it into the episode. I saved these outtakes because I found them so fascinating, especially the segment in which she talked about her spiritual awakening that led to her becoming a practitioner and lineage holder of Tibetan Tantric Buddhism. I was touched that she would share such a personal journey with me and grateful to her for letting me share it with you here in the Rock is Lit Vault.
Enjoy the interview, then listen to the full Episode 6 here or wherever you get your podcasts.
