  • Songfacts Podcast: Metallica Biographer Ben Apatoff
Ben Apatoff is an author who recently released Metallica: The $24.95 Book. It's all about... you guessed it, Metallica! As a reader of many musical biographies, I was pleasantly surprised to read this because it breaks the format that many books of this nature follow. I highly suggest you give it a read... after listening to this show, of course.
Ben and I dive into a long list of lingering questions I have had about Metallica. So, whether you are a seasoned fan or just discovering Metallica, this episode of the Songfacts Podcast is for you.

  • The Mistress Carrie Podcast 77: Toby Wright & Jason Sakowski from Taummhoms
Toby Wright and Jason Sakowski are the founders of Taummhoms, which uses original binaural beats frequencies—composed by Grammy Award Winning Producer, Toby Wright which are customizable, on-demand streaming service is designed to lull you to sleep in 30 minutes or less. Sound healing is the practice of using audio tones and vibrational frequencies to repair damaged tissues and cells within the body. It works on the idea that all matter is vibrating at specific healing frequencies, with sickness, disease, depression, and stress causing human beings to vibrate at a lower frequency. Therefore, listening to Taummhoms may cause your overall vibrational frequency to be raised and your sleep and health to improve.

  • Tunes & Tumblers: "Songs For While I'm Away" Director Emer Reynolds Talks The Documentary About Phil Lynott
Century Club is your weekly shot of what's new in music. Every week, the Tunes & Tumblers team bring you a mini pairing of a recent release and a craft shooter to keep your quarantine interesting. Make all the shots to enter the esteemed club yourself.
We're back, fam! All the way back to the mid-80's to celebrate the latest nostalgic club bop from chameleonic pop prodigy Charli XCX. Her latest single "New Shapes" features the one-two punch of powerhouse singers Christine and the Queens and Caroline Polachek and we have the perfect pregame shot to get you off the couch and onto the dancefloor.
Because the news is too depressing nowadays, we've kept the TnT network station shuttered and instead are turning to the comforting world of the written word with our new segment Bands and Bookworms. Ryan chooses a book for our reading pleasure and leads us on an informative, strange, and utterly hilarious journey. Up first, we dive into Ryan Werner's zine "Brainwashing Miss Teen Nosebleed USA: A Book of One Sentence Album Reviews." I think that title says it better than we can.
Stick around to the second half of the episode for an exclusive interview with LA pop punk artist Crooked Teeth. We talk the catalog of pop punk that defined the childhoods of geezers like us along with his upbeat, headbanging new single "First World Problem." Tune in not just for the talk, but for the song in its entirety. Lock the door and jump on the bed surrounded by Paramore and My Chemical Romance posters. Cheers!

  • The Real Me: Nathan Hooper
The Real Me follows the stories of young songwriters and performers with cancer who found hope, healing and connection through music.
Presented by Teen Cancer America, the national non-profit founded by rock icons Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend of The Who, “The Real Me” highlights the moving experiences of cancer patients in TCA’s Play It Back program, which matches them with music professionals to write, perform and record fully produced studio versions of their original songs.
    Now up...Nathan Hooper!
Nathan Hooper is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He was born in Nashville, TN and loves all kinds of music. He has played drums since he was four and has played the guitar and bass since the fifth grade. Before Cancer, Nathan played in percussion ensemble, the jazz band at his school and a rock band with some of his friends. Some of his favorite bands/artists include Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, Foo Fighters, Los Lobos, and Ween. Nathan enjoys seeing live music concerts. While in Nashville, he saw Peter Frampton at the Nashville Symphony and The Who in their 2015 North American Tour. One artist that he would love to sit in with is Beck. Nathan is a one-man band for sure. A creative force, Nathan is a prolific creator whose vision is as strong as his ability. As they say, “if you can learn an instrument, you can learn anything.” Nathan will likely add to the list of instruments he already mastered, he’s that kind of dedicated artist. Play It Back has helped Nathan by giving him opportunities to write songs with a producer and learn the music production process.
