  • Tunes & Tumblers: Halloween Special and a Cold Wind (feat. Bobby Parker of Salem's Bend)
It's that time of year again. The jack-o'-lanterns are lit, the 12 foot tall Home Depot skeletons are on the lawn, and the Squid Game costumes are sold out on Amazon. It's Halloween on Tunes & Tumblers.
This year, the gang invites Bobby Parker of LA metal trio Salem's Bend onto the show to discuss their favorite songs that invoke a sense of dread. And it wouldn't be TnT without a haunting drink to pair. LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, SHARE and as always, cheers!

  • The Real Me: Sara Carreras
The Real Me follows the stories of young songwriters and performers with cancer who found hope, healing and connection through music.
Presented by Teen Cancer America, the national non-profit founded by rock icons Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend of The Who, “The Real Me” highlights the moving experiences of cancer patients in TCA’s Play It Back program, which matches them with music professionals to write, perform and record fully produced studio versions of their original songs.
    This episode is about Sara!
Sara Carreras is a singer/songwriter and instrumentalist. She grew up in a family of music and has been singing in church since she was 12. Her voice is as clear as a bell...and as Belle’s. Sara plays the guitar, but recently got into keys, bass, and drums. Her favorite genres are Gospel, R & B, and 90s/2000s Pop (she loves N’SYNC). And she will school you on the K-Pop group Red Velvet. Sara is hilarious and loves to entertain. Although cancer took away her energy to practice instruments and listen to music, she grew to love gospel music (Kirk Franklin & Fred Hammond) while in the hospital. Her church recently reopened and she’s back to singing on stage. Sara loves working with the other artists in Play It Back. Play It Back gives her hope that she can live a normal life after cancer and continue to pursue her dream of being a songwriter. Her favorite Play It Back memory was learning about Kenli’s obsession with bananas from a call with Benny Blanco.

  • Performance Anxiety: Møtrik
Erik Golts and Dave Fulton of the band Møtrik are my guests. Møtrik is on the front lines of a krautrock revival. The band’s origin can be traced back to a drunken conversation about the genre. And it’s really funny to listen as the memories come flooding back to Dave and Erik as we go through the band’s history.
They give me a really good lesson on krautrock and what drew them to it in the first place. Møtrik has also gone through a few changes; like starting off as an instrumental band and then adding lyrics as they grew. They tell me how they one up Kraftwerk and how a conversation with artist Jonas Hartley about fog machines led to a unifox. At one point, my dog interrupts us and I make Erik feel bad about photographing an album cover. Follow Møtrik @motrikband on Instagram. Order the new album, Moon from bandcamp or their label, Jealous Butcher. Follow us @PerformanceAnx on all the socials. You can support the show at ko-fi.com/performanceanxiety or buy merch at performanceanx.threadless.com. • The Devil's Music 37: Chip Kinman
Chip Kinman is a punk rock icon whose astoundingly versatile career is still going strong nearly fifty years later. The Dils, formed with his late brother Tony made an impact in the first wave of 1970’s California punk bands before abruptly switching gears to pioneer cowpunk with Rank And File with Alejandro Escovedo... before moving on to the industrial drone of Blackbird. These bands were followed up by Cowboy Nation and more recently, the bluesy Ford Madox Ford. In this episode, Chip and longtime pal hostess Pleasant Gehman  swap anecdotes about the mid-to-late ‘70’s scene in LA and San Francisco, and share wild touring stories. Among many other things, Chip recounts a long-ago night of passion with a famous female musician and reveals his latest solo recording project.
