In Japanese, Reiki means ‘mysterious influence’ which relies on a spiritual energy that is hard to define. It was started 90 years ago by Mikao Usui as a result of Buddist training which involved meditation, fasting and prayer, that led to him practice healing by the use of universal life force energy.
