Paranormality UK

Everyone likes to be part of a group, but is a Cult a healthy group to join? This week we look at two examples of cults from around the world.

First we look at Aum Shinrikyo, formed in Japan by Shoko Asahara, it attracted thousands of participants over the years, but secretly haroured dark intentions and executed terrorist attacks that killed hundereds and injured many more.

Then we look at the Ant Hill Kids, named by the Canadian founder Roch Theriault who invited people to join his remote comune for a simple peaceful life... Only to subject his followers to grusome rituals, torture and even murder!

Have you ever thought of going on a spiritual retreat? Many people these days are travelling to south america for exactly this reason, to find out for themselves the spiritual benefits of Shamanic rituals using Ayahuasca, a brew that includes an ample dose of DMT (Dimethyltriptamine). In fact the purified version of DMT is growing in popularity as well, and people the world over are claiming to have very personal spiritual experiences whilst under the influence... This has spurred a series of scientific studies into the effects it has on the brain and why people seem to have similar experiences meeting various beings/entities... Are these beings purely hallucinations? Or do they exist in another dimension only accessible through the use of DMT?

In 1915 a German theoretical physicist named Albert Einstein devised a new groundbreaking theory about Gravity, Mass and Momentum. A theory we come to know today as The Theory of General Relativity. Backed up by Mathematician Karl Schwarzchild, the pair were able to confirm Einstein's equasions and test them to the extreme limits of reality.... Black Holes.

Although Einstein had never heard of a Black Hole, his theory predicted that they "could" exist... and today we see them abundantly in the vast reaches of space!

Stephen Hawking then followed in his footsteps with his own ground breaking theories on black holes and how quantum mechanics can explain what was previously thought impossible... Conservation of Information.

These theories have been the subject of several Royal Institute lectures that perked Pirate's interest and allowed his imagination to spark ideas of "new Spacetime" being creadted by White Holes... Join us in this exciting New Year's episode and enjoy as Pirate explains his theories.

The Rendlesham Forest incident was a series of reported sightings of unexplained lights near Rendlesham Forest in Suffolk, England, in December 1980, which became linked with UFO landings. The events occurred just outside RAF Woodbridge, which was used at the time by the United States Air Force (USAF). USAF personnel, including deputy base commander Lieutenant Colonel Charles I. Halt, claimed to see things they described as a UFO.

The occurrence is the most famous of UFO events to have happened in the United Kingdom, and is among the best-known reported UFO events worldwide. It has been compared to the Roswell UFO incident in the United States and is sometimes called "Britain's Roswell".

The UK Ministry of Defence has stated that the event posed no threat to national security, and therefore, it was never investigated as a security matter. Skeptics have explained the sightings as a misinterpretation of a series of nocturnal lights: a fireball, the Orfordness Lighthouse, and bright stars.

Staff Sergeant Jim Penniston also claimed to have an up close encounter with an extra terrestrial craft and further claimed to receive a psychic message contained within a binary code from the craft.

Join us as we examine the events of 1980 and find out what we conclude about one of Britain's biggest mysteries!
