Once Upon A Time As Katie Krimitsos:
* In 2015, Katie had co-owned a company with her husband. He was the leader/visionary, and Katie was the operator
* At that point Katie was a new podcastor as well with her podcast Biz Women Rock
* When she got pregnant, 90% of her time was spent in the business, and the other 10% was spent on her podcast
* After the child, Katie started to distance herself from the company in order to raise her child and focus on her dream: Biz Women Rock
* The internet has made this world of online entrepreneurship look “easy” when in fact there is a lot more to it
* Before she had her daughter, Katie gave herself permission to be a stay at home mom if she felt that was right, or to go to work if that is what felt right
* After devoting the little time available to her as a new mother to her business she became frustrated at it not moving fast
* Katie took some time and came up with her very own mompreneur mission statement: what her values were, and what she needs to do to make them happen
* Her values were: spending quality time with her daughter, impacting many women in business, having a meaningful relationship with her husband, and maintaining a fit body
*
* Owning the mindset that you can do it makes all the difference
* Katie started to seek out people who are living the life she wanted to live: parents succeeding both in business and as parents
* What you value can actually happen
* Make the big picture, and then decide on what you need to do on a daily basis to move forward
* Katie created the decision making matrix
* At the end of the day the goal of your business is to make a profit
* The matrix is a spreadsheet. On the first column she listed what she can provide and can be paid for
* In the next columns she listed four questions:
* Would I love doing this?
* What is the quickness to market?
* What is the money potential?
* Does my community actually need this?
* Find which one answers the questions the best, and devote your time and energy to that
* Providing value is necessary in any business
* Marketing and sales happen one on one: you are dealing with people
* You CAN pull off the gas pedal a little bit as time goes on
* The guilt does not go away; that is just the way it is, even if you didn’t do anything wrong. Life goes on
* Boundaries are vital parts of life
* It is okay to be “unproductive” when you’re with your kids
* Ask yourself what your values are and what you believe is possible
* No matter what your schedule is you can adjust to get the time you need
