Today, on Karl and Crew, we kicked off our weekly theme of “Family Relationships” by discussing how to navigate Parental Estrangement and set healthy boundaries in relationships. We also turned to the phone lines to hear how our listeners handle issues with their family. We asked the question, “What’s one thing you wish you could tell your younger self about handling family disagreements?” We also had a few guests who discussed different aspects of familial relationships. Kris Swiatocho joined us to talk about how single adults can embrace their singleness without succumbing to the pressures of marital expectations. Kris is the Director of The Singles Network Ministries, which equips single adults with ways to navigate and embrace their unwedded walk with Christ. Kris is also the Director of Kris Swiatocho Ministries, which has a primary focus on single adults, women, leaders, and church development throughout the US and Europe. We were also joined by Rachel Faulkner Brown, who encouraged widows as she shared her own story and the ministry she founded, Never Alone Widows, dedicated to serving and supporting widows. Rachel also hosts a podcast called “There is More Podcast” and has co-written “Father’s House”, an eight-week video-driven Bible study. She has also authored the book, “Widow’s Might: 365 Days of Strength for Grief and Loss- Find Comfort, Hope, and Healing.” We then had Lisa Anderson join us to talk about how young adults can cultivate healthy relationships. Lisa is the director of Boundless and Young Adults at Focus on the Family, a ministry that helps young adults navigate life with biblical wisdom and guidance.
