She’s a long tall glass of water, a babe who loves a plan. Invite her for dinner, but don’t forget to tell her what time, menu plans, dress code, and if she should anticipate a late night. She’s well read, funny, kind, and one of PKL’s favourite people. In our first episode of Friends of the Pod, we introduce you to the long suffering roommate and friend, Sarah Gordon. Buckle up as we talk about our summers at camp, what it’s like to have health benefits, and the stresses of prepping COVID reports for Justin Trudeau himself.
It’s been a year since our last pitch session, and we wanted to start off the year by pitching our new creative ideas and plans. Elise wants to change the narrative for maligned celebrities, Elliot wants to make an app, Maggie wants to archive her family history, and Kate wants to move to Wyoming. Listen in for our updates on last year’s pitches, and Elise and Elliot drop some exciting news!!!
We're back at Hogwarts, this time for year three! Join us as we discuss time travel, how to bump up your style if you're an executioner, toad choirs, and much much more. Did Elliot develop a fear for large black dogs while watching this movie? Perhaps. Was it worth it? Listen in to find out...
Have Good Food boxes changed our lives? Does Denmark have the best duck sandwiches in the world? Is orange night something you should consider bringing to your household? We answer all these questions and more in our first episode dedicated to the thing we all love: food. Consider this episode our love letter to food. We don’t recommend listening to this one on an empty stomach…
New year, new you! This week we celebrate the new year by sharing our very important goals for 2022. Listen in as we discuss how much water Maggie should be drinking, if Elliot should get his motorcycle license, how much time Kate should be spending alone versus with her roommates, and what Elise's next Christmas will look like. It's gonna be a wild year, so buckle up with us... we'll guide you through it.
As we enter the last day of 2021, we wanted to put out an episode that marked the end of a challenging, difficult year. We, like most people, responded to this year, not with hope, not with kindness, not with love in our hearts for our downstairs neighbours, but instead by watching an incredible amount of TV and celebrating as our daily screen time report numbers rocketed up like COVID cases in Quebec. We leave this year knowing Britney Spears is free, but Joe Exotic is still behind bars. And so we keep fighting, and pushing, and hoping for a brighter tomorrow.
Enjoy our 2021 in review, as we describe all our favourite things that kept us going this year. We'll be back next week with all our hopes and dreams for 2022!
Merry Christmas Eve to all our listeners! To celebrate Jesus, Santa Claus, and the end of a very, very long year, settle in with us for our Wrapped Special where we talk all things music and Christmas. We also decide which Beatle we would be, how many pits Elliot fell into during his time in Jamaica, and we break down why the show, The Leftovers, is such a hit (if you happened to snooze on that when it originally aired 40 years ago).
Remember, don't miss church just to listen to our episode! We'll be here when you get back.
Remember that time your parents forgot you in a parking lot, and you just had to sit and wait and pass the time and talk to your sibling about what you've been watching and working on? Well, this episode is very similar. Kate and Elliot deserted their lovely friends (and partner) to go on a business trip. The result? Maybe one of our best episodes yet, featuring the extremely talented and wonderful Elise and Maggie. Listen in on the friendship that Kate was very jealous of for many months before they invited her in.
Another year at Hogwarts, another episode where we talk all things Harry Potter. For those of you looking for a quick recap: Harry Potter meets a tiny elf and and a giant snake, and ultimately defeats evil. Did some of us find this movie watching experience extremely stressful? Yes. Were we transported back to our childhoods? Also yes.
Enjoy!
He’s co-founder of Choir!Choir!Choir!, star of the CBC show Late Night in the Studio, West End dwelling, tennis playing, food loving: Nobu Adilman. This week we sat down to talk about his early days making Super 8 films in Halifax, his childhood audition to play Indiana Jones’ sidekick, and the origin story behind Food Jammers. He’s an artist, a style icon, a Toronto legend, plus he brought us beer. Enjoy the episode!
