Despite last year's water quality problems, Parlee Beach has received a Blue Flag certification for the season. The Blue Flag is an international eco-certification program for beaches and marinas around the world. Water programs manager Kelsey Scarfone said selected areas have met stringent criteria that show, among other things, the location is clean and accessible.
