Eventually it was released in 2017 when its editor was able to pull all the footage together and complete the picture. This week on the Part-Time Fanboy podcast Kristian sits down with Mark and PTF regular Yvis Cannavale to talk about one of the craziest and yet most visually innovative films ever discussed on this show.

Andy Nardvall is a writer who's worked in everything from screenwriting, to podcasts, to web and physical comics. This month he has an anthology book launching on Kickstarter called Bad Future. Bad Future contains stories of, well, bad futures. Moments in the near future which are dystopian in their nature. Inspired by works like Blade Runner, Bad Future features various creators looking at the world that may be coming through a somewhat pessimistic lens. One of the creators Andy tapped for his anthology is Ben Crane (creator of the all ages comic Cosmic Cadets). On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with Andy and Ben about making a comic book anthology in a present that isn't necessarily the most optimistic of times about possible futures that could be worse than where we are now.

This week, we're chatting about the 1981 Western vigilante bomb, The Legend of the Lone Ranger! After the blockbuster successes of Star Wars and Superman, the studios went on a frantic search for any nostalgic "heroic" property they could get their hands on. Eventually the gaze of the studios fell upon The Lone Ranger, whose adventures were originally detailed in radio shows, dime store novels, and finally television. When the time came for Kemosabe to get the big screen treatment the producers of the film decided to cast a complete unknown, Klinton Spilsbury, for the part of the titular Ranger. Unfortunately, the big screen adaptation of the Lone Ranger's adventures didn't sit well with critics or audiences at the time. On this episode of the podcast, Kristian has an old fashioned showdown with Joe Slepski (of the Joe on Joe Podcast) and Keith Howell on whether The Legend of the Lone Ranger is as bad as its reputed to be. Is Klinton Spilsbury the worst actor to every grace the silver screen? Is Tonto more than a badly rendered Native American stereotype? Should The Lone Ranger have shown up earlier in the film? The answer to these questions and more await you on this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast!

Kylar Merrell is a comic creator who has previously published several anthologies through his own publishing hub Foreign Press Comics. He recently decided to publish a one-shot comic book which he completely created on his own. The Song Survives (currently funding on Kickstarter) is the story of a bard who roams the wild west, singing his songs and spreading folklore via his musical verse. When he comes across a specific town, however, its inhabitants aren't necessarily charmed by his melodious tones. On this episode of the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with Kylar about how the Dungeons and Dragons role playing game was a definitive factor in the creation of his comic and why he decided to write and illustrate a comic completely on his own.

We're back! We've been gone for about a month or so but April Fools' Day is here so it's time to talk about bad movies! All this month, we at the Part-Time Fanboy clubhouse will be talking about our favorite "bad" movies. Movies we love, but that other people may not have such a favorable opinion of. On this first day of tomfoolery we sit down to discuss the very first Marvel Comic theatrical adaptation that laid an egg at the box office: Howard the Duck! Howard the Duck is one of Kristian's favorite "bad" movies. While making American Graffiti, George Lucas discovered the Howard the Duck comic books and decided that some day he would bring Steve Gerber's creation to cinemas. Ten years later...moviegoing audiences would be treated to a big budget spectacle unlike any other! This week on the Part-Time Fanboy podcast Kristian sits down with Joe Slepski (of the Joe on Joe Podcast), David Accampo (writer of Spectral and The Margins), PTF regular Yvis Cannavale, and long-absent friend of the podcast Keith Howell to discuss the comic book adaptation that was trapped in a world it never made!

Scott Chantler is a cartoonist who started his career in comics by creating graphic novels based on historical events. When his son asked him one day to make a story that had castles in it, he turned his attention toward fantasy fiction. The result was the Three Thieves series which ended up spanning seven books and would eventually win the Joe Shuster Award for Best Comic For Kids. For a long while the Three Thieves series was out of print but earlier this month Papercutz Comics began publishing new editions of the series...beginning with Three Thieves: Tower of Treasure. This week on the Part-Time Fanboy podcast, Kristian chats with Scott about his highly regarded comic series, who the artists were that influenced his own art style, and what it was like shifting gears from heavily researched historical books to creating a fantasy world from scratch.
