The New England Patriots have officially named rookie quarterback Drake Maye as the starter for their upcoming game against the Houston Texans. This decision comes after a series of offensive struggles, including a 24-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins. With Jacoby Brissett failing to generate consistent results, head coach Jerod Mayo has opted to give Maye the chance to lead the team moving forward. The locker room seems to have confidence in the young QB. CLNS Media's Taylor Kyles and Mike Kadlick report LIVE from Gillette Stadium after Wednesday's practice.

The Seattle Seahawks edged out a 23-20 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday. Jacoby Brissett completed 15 of 27 passes for 149 yards, including a touchdown to rookie Ja'Lynn Polk. Tight end Hunter Henry was a standout, catching eight of his 12 targets for 109 yards, while the Patriots' wide receivers struggled, combining for just three catches and 19 yards. This raises the pressing question: Can the Patriots' passing game be fixed?

Patriots Head coach Jerod Mayo mentioned Friday that Maye is receiving about 30 percent of the starting reps in practice, as part of the team's plan to develop the rookie quarterback.

Mayo’s comments followed a report from CBS Sports' Evan Washburn, who noted that Maye was getting a notable share of first-team reps. CLNS Media's Taylor Kyles and Mike Kadlick examine whether Maye is close to starting and whether his increased reps raise concerns for current starter Jacoby Brissett.
