Pageau illustrates Pinker's reduction of human complexity, but the problems go deep with Naturalism. We can imagine two groups. Group A of things that "go on their own" and Group B of Colonizing Agents who move objects in group A. How are these two groups related? Are they one group or two? Does Group B exist? Right away many contemporary readers feel like they are forced to choose between two worldviews: scientific therapeutic or Christian mythological. Many contemporary translations don't help. Why describe the spirit as "unclean"? Is this just a made up story?

The rise of secularity and the penetration of the meaning crisis have been directly related to the recession of a personal God. John Vervaeke has been working on the meaning crisis in his series "Awakening from the Meaning Crisis" and he has been a willing collaborator in engaging these questions.

Over my last 2 years of pondering the work of Jordan Peterson I've been working through many issues in psychology and the Biblical Story. I've learned from Pascal, CS Lewis and Jonathan Pageau as well. What has developed is a "little corner of the Internet" where a few of us are having meaning conversations about God, meaning, existence and community.

This all started with Job's quip about "when are we going to do Lobstercon?" to Jeff and off it went.
