One of humanity's ultimate goals is peace. We talk about peace, we pray for peace, and we hope to promote peace. But when push comes to shove, we often forget peace. As we move on from America250, we wanted to spend some time talking about the importance of peace and how we can actually work towards peace – all so our country can live on for another 250 years. In this special, Greg and Holly are joined by several experts who share their understanding of peace according to their cultures:
Professor Chad Ford, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Utah State University, joins us to share a religious perspective
Professor Michael Ligaliga, assistant professor and Program Lead of Intercultural Peacebuilding at BYU-Hawaii, shares his insights into how Pacific Islander cultures tackle the issue of peace
Darren Parry, former Chairman of the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation, explains the role of peace within the Shoshone culture
Dr. Austin Knuppe, Director of the Heravi Peace Institute at Utah State University, goes in-depth on how Middle Eastern cultures view peace and what we can learn from the rest of the world when it comes to finding true transformational peace
