Pretty much everyone listening to this either grew up or had children during the many stranger danger panics of the past few decades.  Media fear mongering is certainly nothing new.  And as proof that time is cyclical, we've recently gone back to not letting our children get too close to anyone.  Although now it's because they might get a $25,000 fine and a prison sentence.
