Full Hour | Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing comments made by Camden County Commissioner Louis Cappelli about the crime in Philadelphia, who, when speaking at a press conference about shots fired at a July 4th event on Camden’s waterfront, called criminals in Philadelphia ‘thugs’ and ‘freaks.’ Dom tells that instead of using this criticism to better themselves, a member of City Council has publicly demanded an apology for the comments, which Dom sees as factual. Dom tells that he hopes to have Louis join tomorrow to further explain his words, which he plays back for listeners. Then, Dom tells about an incident that friend-of-the-show and noted liberal-leaning individual Philly Captain recorded, where he confronts a protestor of Moms for Liberty about the disrespect levied his way because he ‘looks’ like he may disagree with their protests.
Then, Dom Giordano welcomes State Representative Clint Owlett onto the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the Governor’s reaction to a bill he penned establishing a Lifeline Scholarship Program, which passed through the Senate this week. After the news of the passage, Gov. Josh Shapiro announced that he will take the money for this program, set it aside, essentially holding the program hostage after receiving concessions from Republicans for the establishment of the scholarships, which would bring school choice to Pennsylvanians. Owlett reacts to the Governor, calling back Shapiro’s words during the campaign, where he positioned himself as pro-choice, even noting at least once that he’s in favor of this exact bill. Owlett and Giordano delve deep into the political implications of such a decision, and Owlett tells of the net benefits of school choice, explaining the good that his bill will bring to Pennsylvanians.
